Nah no worries.

Anyway, Ige by 5-7 points.

Ige, he (Abercrombie) should be the only incumbent governor to be defeated in a primary this season.

Who voted that Abercrombie will win? Explain yourself.

Ige, but it is difficult to predict a margin.

Ige by 6-7, unless late voters swing to the other side.

I have to wonder if the Hurricane and Abercrombie's handling of it will play into the election.

I am one of the people who voted Abercrombie in this poll because I think his response to the hurricane may put him over the top, despite what the pre-hurricane polling data says.  He's been on TV the past few days "just doing his job".  His opponent has not.

Indeed. This may not win the election for him, but it sure will tighten it.

Could this be the worst primary loss for an incumbent governor ever if it holds up?

Definitely in modern years.

Jim Gibbons lost his primary 56-27 in 2010. We'll see if Abercrombie can crack that.

This is a wider margin than that so far, though Gibbons's percentage was lower.

Frank Murkowski got third when running for re-election for Governor of Alaska, with only 19% of the vote to Palin's 51%. That's the closest I could find to what looks like an amazing defeat in Hawaii.

This is a little farther back, but Rhode Island governor Bruce Sundlun lost his 1994 primary to Myrth York. She got 57.2% to his 27.7%, an almost 30 point defeat.

Seems like all the news outlets are characterizing this as a stunner, but check out the forum poll results on this thread. Pat on the back Atlas forumites.

They must be doing that for dramatic effect, it's been clear since at least June that Ige was going to win.
