Huckabee says Obama deserves to be removed from office, but that the GOP should refrain from attempting to do so only because they don't have the votes:

If they honestly believe Obama deserves to be impeached and aren't just trying to keep the fringe right happy, then they should try to do it, regardless of whether they have the votes.

We hate wars based upon lies of the President. We hate economic bubbles that devour practically all capital and then go bust. We hate the extreme  economic inequality that Republicans endorse. We hate the idea that the common man exists only to suffer for 1% of the population. We hate a political party that has no room for dissent and that in practice endorses government by unelected lobbyists responsible only to their corporate paymasters (a novel form of oligarchy). The GOP vision of America is not the America that I was brought up with.

We know what Dubya was, and we have no cause to believe that current Republicans attribute the failures of Dubya and the GOP that stood completely with him to his policies.

Promote an economic order in which most Americans have a stake in the order, and then maybe the GOP can peel off some Democratic votes.

They will have an even longer shot as prez than they do now, only to remind voters of Hilary and Lewinsky.

This will also give the Dems an even playing field to recapture House than currently prognosticated.

Again, if they aren't just grandstanding around and honestly believe these are real, impeachable offenses, then they should do it. If they are really being sincere, it is their patriotic duty to try to have him removed.

Let's see if this loose talk about impeaching a President subsides as he deals with genocide in Iraq.

I would love if they try to impeach Obama. It'll ensure the Democrats keep the Senate and even maybe gain some seats in the House.

When the Democrats tried to impeach Bush they won seats in both houses during the next immediate election.

Democrats actually had a reason to impeach Bush

So criticism of a President should go away when there is a war?

Like when Dems tried to impeach Bush during the Iraq war? I'm not saying it's apples to apples, but that's a stupid point to make.

No serious Dems were trying to impeach Bush. It was people like Dennis Kucinich. And I think the same is true on the GOP, even though people like Mike Huckabee are trying to make a buck riling up people.

Democrats never impeached Bush, in fact "left wing communist fascist Nancy Pelosi" took it off the table immediately. I have yet to see the limp noodle Boehner do the same.

Trivial stuff, of course, needs to go to the background. Criticism related to normal politics? Of course not. Budgets and social policy matter.

The talk about impeachment is from before the war and is on issues unrelated to war. Can a President be impeached during a war for conduct of the war? Sure -- for war crimes, arguably among the worst crimes imaginable.  Maybe if the President oversteps the usual boundaries.
