Which Democrat can defeat Sen. Pat Toomey, and who in your opinion can't?

Sestak or Rendell could conceivably defeat him, Kane or Nutter couldn't.

Jack Wagner has lost more elections in the past few years than he's won in the past decade. I'm hesitant nominating Joe Sestak again. Rendell isn't running for office again, he's too old and alot of people borderline hate him here.

Kane, on the other hand, could run.

Rendell. Of people who'd conceivably run? Probably Kane, maybe Sestak if the (overblown) controversies surrounding Kane get bigger or remain salient in 2016.

Sestak, possibly Kane. Age would be an issue for Rendell, plus he left office with a mediocre approval rating.

I'd be interested in hearing Phil's thoughts here.

If I was Toomey, I would have feared Kane before, but not after "Sting-gate."

Sestak is the best candidate of this list.

I voted Rendell but certainly McCord out of the realistic options. I actually think that I voted for McCord in the state treasurer's race in 2012. I do think Schwartz could be somewhat successful too with a reverse Martha Coakley-style comeback following an awful campaign where she should have been the frontrunner. Her comeback might be easier considering she just lost a primary not the general.

Kathleen Kane is my least favorite politician in the state, and I hope she completely crumbles. I was shocked by her MoV in 2012 compared to other state offices. I don't understand how the ads she ran would appeal to Pennsylvanians, but I suppose they must have.

I'd be pretty surprised if Nutter ran, and I think he would probably barely lose. Sestak would be neck and neck again. Murphy would probably be a few points behind, Lean Toomey.

McCord's got to be the best options for Democrats.

Sestak is the only one who can that I would consider likely to run.

The person many thought would definitely run isn't going to run. End of story.

Strongest candidate? Rendell, but he's not running.

Realistically? Sestak.

Best candidate? Me, of course.

I'd vote for Sawx over Toomey.

Rendell.  Too bad he won't run.
