The one who didn't turn Canada into a caricature of what Canadians think the United States is like.

Trudeau was the absolute worst Prime Minister of Canada in the post-WW2 era. Harper easily and I'm not even that fond of him.

In other words, the one who did turn Canada into a caricature of what Americans think Canada is like? Tongue

Pierre was vastly superior to both his son and Harper.

I'm not familiar with Trudeau or his legacy, but as a general rule, if a politician in a non-authoritarian country has a major airport named after him/her, they can't have been that bad.

That basically sums up how I feel.

Harper is a grotesque. He's a Mervyn Peake caricature of a contemporary Anglophone right-wing leader. So Trudeau, even though Trudeau wasn't great either.

Ronald Reagan disagrees with you. But I still vote for Trudeau.

I don't know much about Canadian politics pre-Mulroney. What exactly was Pierre's legacy? All I know is that the prairie provinces dislike him for his energy policies.

But I do hate Harper.

Destroying the reputation of the Liberal Party of Canada for ever amongst its hitherto most loyal supporters (i.e. Francophone Quebecers).
