May I ask why you're wasting your time on maps you'll have to update?

A "guest" did this. You might as well be asking a ghost.

I know that not every ballot has been tallied yet due to the typhoon, but i didn't expected the results to be that close...

When you upload an election result, it starts a thread automatically, unless you uncheck the box (which I always do).

So is voting technically not complete?

So is voting technically not complete?

For everyone except those two Big Island polling places' voters, yes it's complete.

Counting isn't though.

It could very much go either way in that case.

I'm cross-posting this from the live results thread so it doesn't get lost:

Here is a map of the results of the 2014 Hawaii Democratic Senate primary by Precinct.  Unlike in the by-county map, a Schatz win is in blue.  A Hanabusa win is in red.  Empty precincts are in dark grey.  The two precincts that haven't voted are in light grey.  The winning results are shaded using the usual Atlas color scale.

Statewide:

And since it's hard to see some of the precincts, here are close-in views by county:

Honolulu (Oahu):

Kauai:

Maui:

Hawaii (Big Island):

Thanks for that, cinyc. Interesting how Schatz won most of Hawaii Kai.

My Hawaiian geography isn't great, but there appears to be a real West Oahu-East Oahu divide, which makes some sense since Hanabusa is from Waianae in West Oahu.  There also appears to be a bit of an urban/rural divide on Hawaii and Maui islands, with Hanabusa winning the bigger towns like Hilo and Kahului and Schatz taking most of the rest, including the tourist resort areas on South Maui.  Hanabusa took the smallest inhabited islands - Molokai, Lanai and Niihau.

What's special about Hawaii Kai?  Is it relatively rich?

It's the richest part of Ohau. But what is primarily interesting is that it's a mostly white area. Which may be why Schatz did well there.
