We are experiencing technical difficulties.  Please stand by while our mechanics figure out the full implications of this election.

We are experiencing technical difficulties.  Please stand by while our Burton Wheeler points a handgun at J. Thomas Heflin attempting to yell "You like that, you ing son of a bitch? You ing like that?" through the tears.

Reminder that we already had a dirty papist on the throne in the form of Nate the Great.

However, then, our work had but just begun. Now, though... NOW!

It didn't have to be Al Smith. We could have settled for all three Kennedys in a row ('61-'63, '63-'63, '68-'72), but I guess now that we've gotten our token Catholic in Malcolm and I can activate Plan A.

Barring George Clinton's unanimous reelection in 1808, I believe this is the highest margin of victory in an election (40 points) that we've seen so far, although JQA had a slightly bigger portion of the vote in 1828 at 65%.

Antipopes John XXIV, Robert, and Edward will surely have my head.

Sometime tomorrow (probably tomorrow evening).  Don't worry, it'll be worth the wait!
