And it's a pretty wonderful thing that everyone coming in here is claiming a different movie as the one they'll be watching in remembrance. Just shows his versatility in acting and the breadth of brilliant work that he gave this world. Truly a pillar of acting.

What a fantastic actor and person. He was so good at making you laugh and then grabbing your heart seconds after with an important lesson. His work, his personality, and that smile will be missed.

He was one of those greats, along with Johnny Carson and Bill Murray, who you thought would always be there. I know everyone dies, but I just never thought Robin would.
Bill Murray is still alive.

Awakenings is the first of his movies I thought of.

Just remembered that a few minutes ago myself, almost in the same thought as One Hour Photo. What a range.

I was completely in shock when I found out. I don't think I ever saw a movie with him in it that didn't make me laugh and cry at almost the same time. he was amazing and it's heartbraking that a man of his talent to make other people laugh would commit suicide thanks to his depression Sad

Apart from Mrs Doubtfire which was one of my favorite movies while I was growing up (and still is, frankly), I'll also watch in the coming days Good morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society, which I believe haven't been mentioned here so far.

Oh, and of course I'm going to take some old vhs tapes I have in the attic and watch a bunch of Mork and Mindy episodes.

RIP

I can't say I'm a huge fan (I don't dislike him, I just haven't seen him on film), but I am in shock none the less. The guy was a legend.

I really can't even imagine what type of films you watch if you've managed to go your entire life so far without watching any of his.

I find it almost impossible to believe someone has never seen ONE Robin Williams movie...

...it explains a lot.

I would also add The Birdcage and One Hour Photo to movies listed.

Shocking news. It's rare that I'm this sad about a celebrity death. He really was a wonderful comedian and actor. It's so crazy that someone who seemed so joyful was so depressed that he took his life. Really horrible. Sad

How awful Cry Robin Williams was awesome, especially in Mork & Mindy, Jumanji, Aladdin, Flubber, Mrs. Doubtfire, and many more!

This news has really just shocked and horrified me. Being someone who grew up in the '90s, with several of his movies, I feel like I've lost part of my childhood. I've especially loved (and still very much do) Mrs. Doubtfire and Jumanji, having seen them more times than I can count. I hadn't thought about just how many of his movies I've seen and enjoyed until today and it really is quite a few (and quite a few I haven't seen for that matter). I'd actually just watched Dead Poets Society, another of his movies I've seen quite a few times. I'd also completely forgotten about Jack, which I loved as a kid, and I can't recall seeing it since.

It is a true tragedy and I'm very saddened. At least, fortunately, his works will always be around for everyone to enjoy.

I watched him on Mork & Mindy in reruns back in the 1980s, presumably before many of you were born.  Here is (IMHO) one of the funnier episodes:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i9kogdU7NU

He really goes wild in every scene he's in there.

"They said I was going the speed of light in a speed of sound zone. I would have stopped, but I didn't hear the siren until after they arrested me."
