POLITICO says he may be replaced by Chuck Todd before the year's out.

Chuck Todd isn't a host personality.

Yeah. Chuck Todd is at his heart a maps and demographics nerd. They need to give him a show where he just explains maps for an hour. Maybe 'Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections' can be one of the sponsors.

Problem is there isn't anyone who can do both content & style like the late Tim Russert... maybe go back to a panel format?

I like Chuck Todd, I hope he gets the job but you're right that he's more into analysis than opinion or moderating.

I've stopped watching MTP because Gregory is so god-awful, it would be nice to see it again.

David Gregory is awful, just kisses up to those in power, and has no presence. Almost anybody on NBC/MSNBC would be better than him.

Chuck Todd would be a terrible replacement. I really like Chuck Todd for maps and elections, as an analytical guy he's great. But someone else, even someone like Scarborough, would be better.

How about someone who isn't a straight white man?

Are you kidding? He's practically dry humping Mika each morning for the duration of his show! You must be thinking of Chris Hayes.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I thought Todd was the better choice back in '08. He knows his stuff.

Chuck Todd will be the next moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press". He may do well, he may not. Some view him as another Gregory.

Is there actually nobody here who thinks this group of three will be a good thing?

Seriously, I love all three of them (well, Todd and Russert anyway, not so much Scarborough) and it will be a great show that I will make a point of watching.

Chuck is great at analysis and DAILY RUNDOWN is a good show, but I think Andrea Mitchell would have been better choice.

Worried he is too chummy with DC types and won't ask hard questions.  And Russet kid is just not that good.  Hope he isn't permanent new host for RUNDOWN

I'm glad that Todd is taking over at Meet the Press, and he'll probably do better than David Gregory in his new role, but I've always felt that he would be a great nightly news anchor. Perhaps that will happen in the future.

I hope Scarborough doesn't take over the show with his rants.

Not the Onion: NBC tried desperately to get Jon Stewart as moderator.
