If I wanted a particular kind for some reason, then sure, I'd be willing to.  It's not like I have to buy a tube every week.

Aim tastes good and costs $0.99.   So why the hell would I spend $7+!?  For that 7 bucks (about) I can make tacos and have leftovers for two days!  (Ground turkey- $3, cheddar jack cheese- $2, tortillas- $1, approx. cost of chopped lettuce and tomato for 6-7 tacos- $1)

I'd consider it. "Cruelty-free" is a pretty big plus in my book (if that is actually the case).

I mean if I found perfect toothpaste, then yes. However I will not buy toothpaste that doesn't even have fluoride.

Do you support cruelty to mint leaves?

I use Tom's, which can often be close to $7 when it's not on sale. I also use Sensodyne alternately, which costs even more than $7. Sad

I don't know man, toothpaste lasts a hell of a long time. I bought a tube from Target in January and I only just finished it, and I brush my teeth regularly. Maybe I should start splurging on it.

I would, because I have sensitive teeth, but I would not for that ridiculous herbal jizz toothpaste.

Toothpaste doesn't really matter as much as the physical act of brushing, and more importantly, flossing.

Every try one of those grimy baking soda ones that profess whiteness?  Gritty sandy sh**t, with a hint of mint.  I wouldn't think of trying "mint free".

And what the hell is cruel about fluoride?

Licorice in that case.

I get Tom's, either fennel or cinnamon-clove flavor.  I can't stand the non-natural toothpastes as the artificial sweeteners leave an awful aftertaste.

I spend more 8$ on shampoo, but it's because my scalp forces me to.

For toothpaste, I heard Sensodyne was quite expensive, but, if you need it, you probably have no choice (better to pay than having pain everytime you eat or drink).

I also buy $0.99 Aim. Aim tastes fine but even if it didn't, it doesn't matter. It's toothpaste for crying out loud, who cares what it tastes like as long as it isn't unbearable?

As far as the effect on your teeth, as long as the abrasive content is high enough, they'll clean them just as well. The paste is supposedly better than the gel for this reason, but I don't think it matters that much.

Toothpaste is a REALLY old creation. Most people probably assume it comes from the 19th century or so. Actually it existed and was used when Jesus was around. It's changed a bit since then and become less crude, but the basis remains the same, and the important thing is the brushing. The lack of difference is why companies spend so much time on marketing since they want you to use their product which is functionally identical to the competitor's. Hence why Aim is so cheap with no marketing.

This doesn't apply of course if you have some condition that requires Sensodyne or whatever, but the fact is the vast majority of people don't need to care about brands or the differences because there functionally aren't any. Toothpaste is toothpaste.
