This is my new TL. A short TL.

Iowa - 100% reported
✔ Rick Santorum 28,1% (8 )
Buddy Roemer 21,7% (6)
Mitt Romney 16,9% (5)
Newt Gingrich 9,4% (2)
Michelle Bachmann 6,9% (2)
Ron Paul 6,7% (2)
Rick Perry 4,3% (0)
Gary Johnson 3,8% (0)

"These are the Iowa results. Big surprise. Former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer wins the 2nd place behind Rick Santorum. This is a very surprise. The polls showed a dead heat between Santorum and Romney, with Gingrich and Ron Paul as third wheel and Buddy Roemer in a close race with Michelle Bachmann and Gary Johnson for the 5th place. The polls were wrong. After bad results, Congressman Ron Paul, Governor Perry and Former Governor Johnson exit the race. Paul endorses Roemer and pledged to him his 2 Iowa delegates. Also Gary Johnson has endorsed Roemer and pledged to the Former Louisiana Governor his support in New Mexico, Minnesota and in other states. Rick Perry endorses Rick Santorum, called him the best conservative in the race. Next step is New Hampshire. The polls before the Iowa caucuses shows Mitt Romney with a big lead to Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich and Gary Johnson in this order. But now, with Roemer that has the momentum, with Paul and Johnson that endorse him and with the bad test of Mitt Romney in Iowa, all is possibile. The first New Hampshire poll after Iowa shows Governor Romney with a 5 points lead over Buddy Roemer."

New Hampshire  - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 37,3% (5)
Mitt Romney 35,5% (5)
Rick Santorum 15,5% (2)
Newt Gingrich 6,8% (0)
Michelle Bachmann 3,5% (0)
Ron Paul 6,7% (2)
Rick Perry 4,3%
Gary Johnson 3,8%

"Buddy Roemer narrowly wins the New Hampshire primary. This is a big delusion for the Romney campaign, but the next primary in Nevada, Florida, Colorado, Arizona, Michigan and Wyoming can encourage a Romney comeback. Buddy Roemer has the momentum and can make the shot in South Carolina, with the conservative front divided with 3 different candidates and with the weakness of Romney."

South Carolina  - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 33,4% (21)
Rick Santorum 31,2% (4)
Mitt Romney 17,9% (0)
Newt Gingrich 10,3% (0)
Michelle Bachmann 5,2% (0)

"Again. Buddy Roemer has won the South Carolina Primary with a 2 points lead over Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum. Roemer should thank Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachmann for the division of the conservative voters. Both have suspended their presidential campaigns and both endorsed Rick Santorum, that now is the united candidate of the conservative front. The new national polls show a three way race with a slightly Roemer lead over Romney and Santorum. The next contest is in Florida and the poll show a very close race between Romney and Roomer.”

Florida  - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 37,7% (50)
Mitt Romney 37,4% (0)
Rick Santorum 24,9% (0)

"Buddy Roemer wins the Florida primary by 5.018 votes! Very close race in Florida with Roemer that has maintained the lead for all the night. Now, the race is only between Roomer and Romney, but Senator Santorum has refused to exit the race and endorse Romney to stop the advance of Buddy Roemer, as the establishment want. Buddy Roemer says that he is the right candidate for the GOP as Romney said that he is the best option against Obama and that will stop the advance for the Republican nominee of a former Democrat. The next contest is in Nevada, with the caucuses. Romney is favored to win this state because of the mormon vote, but Roemer can make a strong performance."

Nevada  - 100% reported
✔ Mitt Romney 41,2% (12)
Buddy Roemer 34,7% (10)
Rick Santorum 21,8% (6)

"No surprises in Nevada. Mitt Romney has won the caucuses with a 6 points leads over Buddy Roemer. Now, the national polls show a tight race between Roomer and Romney, with Santorum third but too close with the two Former Governors. In the delegate counts, Buddy Roemer has an early lead, with a draw between Romney and Santorum for the second place. But with the next contests in Colorado, Minnesota, Arizona and Michigan, Romney can close the gap and relaunch the campaign."

Will there be a prologue explaining Roemer's rapid rise?

Roemer was running a great campaign in Iowa with the objective to have a great results, between 8% and 10%. The polls were increasingly bad for Ron Paul and Gary Johnson and the Paul and Johnson electors have preferred to stand with the "rising star" Buddy Roemer. Also a great number of Romney electors preferred to vote for Roemer. Also Buddy Roemer made a great performance in the Ames Straw Poll.

This is the Iowa poll of July 2011.

Iowa Poll - July 2012
Mitt Romney 24%
Rick Santorum 17%
Ron Paul 15%
Newt Gingrich 11%
Michelle Bachmann 9%
Rick Perry 6%
Gary Johnson 5%
Buddy Roemer 5%

This is the final Iowa poll.

Iowa Poll - January 2012
Rick Santorum 25%
Mitt Romney 22%
Ron Paul 10%
Newt Gingrich 10%
Buddy Roemer 9%
Michelle Bachmann 8%
Rick Perry 5%
Gary Johnson 3%

These are the results:

Iowa - 100% reported
✔ Rick Santorum 28,1% (8 )
Buddy Roemer 21,7% (6)
Mitt Romney 16,9% (5)
Newt Gingrich 9,4% (2)
Michelle Bachmann 6,9% (2)
Ron Paul 6,7% (2)
Rick Perry 4,3% (0)
Gary Johnson 3,8% (0)

Colorado - 100% reported
✔ Rick Santorum 36% (12)
Buddy Roemer 32,8% (11)
Mitt Romney 29,7% (10)

Minnesota - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 39,7% (15)

Missouri - 100% reported
✔ Rick Santorum 40,7% (0)
Buddy Roemer 32,8% (0)
Mitt Romney 21,5% (0)

"Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has won the Colorado caucuses and the Missouri Primary. These 2 victories are very important for the Santorum Campaign. These 2 victories have relaunched enthusiasm in the Santorum camp. Buddy Roemer narrowly wins the Minnesota caucuses and expand the lead in the delegates count, but the way is long and the next contests in Maine, Arizona, Michigan and Wyoming can still say a lot for the Romney campaign. Roemer is favored to win in Washington state."

Maine - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 41,7% (9)
Mitt Romney 41,5% (9)
Rick Santorum 15,8% (3)

Arizona - 100% reported
✔ Mitt Romney 38,9% (29)

Rick Santorum 25% (0)

Wyoming - 100% reported

Buddy Roemer 34,2% (9)
Rick Santorum 28% (7)

Washington - 100% reported
✔ Buddy Roemer 42,3% (17)
Mitt Romney 35,6% (14)
Rick Santorum 21,9% (9)

"Important victories for Mitt Romney in Arizona, Michigan and Wyoming. Buddy Roemer has won, as expected, the state of Washington and also has won the state of Maine. The 3 Romney victories have relaunched enthusiasm and now the national polls show a Roemer lead, but only of 5 points over Romney. The next contest is Super Tuesday with 10 states. Former Governor Romney is favored to win his home state of Massachusetts and Idaho. Santorum is favored in Oklahoma and Tennessee and Buddy Roemer is favored to win in Alaska and North Dakota. Close races in Ohio, Virginia and Vermont. A situation of parity. In the delegates count, Roemer has a small lead over Mitt Romney."

My Best Buddy (Part 4)

The Republican Convention

"All the candidates have spoken to the delegates. Roemer said that he is the most voted between the candidates and between the delegates and that is the best against Obama and for this deserves the republican nomination, for a real change of the party and of the country. Both Romney and Santorum stress that Roemer was a democrat. Romney said that he is the best candidate, the most eligible candidate. Santorum said that represent the conservative values and that in this moment, America needs a true, a proven conservative at the guide of country. The delegates have just voted and these are the results. No surprises. No majority in the first ballot. But anything can change. Santorum scheduled a meeting with Mitt Romney between 2 hours and subsequently a meeting with campaign leaders and all the delegates. A new poll released today show that 42% of Santorum voters prefer Buddy Roemer to Mitt Romney, that gain 37% of consensus."

First Ballot
Buddy Roemer 919
Mitt Romney 767
Rick Santorum 600

Need to nominate: 1144

"I met the campaign leaders, all the delegates and we made the decision to back Mitt Romney for the presidency of the United States. As you can imagine, on an important issue as this, not all were in agreement, but the majority, a large majority, decided to back Mitt Romney. Mitt is the best candidate for the presidency, with conservative credentials, and he can beat President Obama and his policies."

"I thank Rick Santorum for his endorsement. I officially asked Buddy Roemer to mantain the unity of our great party. I hope that Roemer will join our team. Also I announce to you that If I will be the nominee, Former Senator Rick Santorum will be my running mate. A proven conservative that can help all the americans that deserve a change."

Second Ballot
✔ Mitt Romney 1151
Buddy Roemer 1095

Need to nominate: 1144

MITT ROMNEY WINS REPUBLICAN NOMINATION

"This is a shame! The majority of Santorum voters preferred Roemer to Mitt Romney. Santorum not only didn't listen his electors, Rick Santorum has sold his votes in exchange of the Vice Presidential nomination, that is his real objective. There will be consequences. In sign of protest, all my delegates will leave the convention, that is becoming a farce."

"After the vote, both Romney and Santorum have accepted their nomination for President and Vice President of the United States. Both nominees have rejected the Roemer accusations, called the party to the unity and criticized the Obama policies."

The Democratic Convention

"Both President Obama and Vice President Biden have accepted their nominations at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. In his speech, President Obama stressed the division of the Republicans and said that he is still the best guide for the United States. But the day later, a important, decisive, major news has shocked the Obama/Biden and Romney/Santorum campaign."

"What happened at the Republican Convention was outrageous. A lot of republicans, democrats, libertarians, greens, independents asked me to stand in the field for our country. My answer is Yes. Yes. Yes. I announce my candidacy for President of the United States as an Independent. Between few days, we will make an Independent Convention in New York City and here I will announce my running mate."

The Independent Convention

"Buddy Roemer accepted the Independent nomination in New York City, reminding all his history and appealing to both democrats and republicans. First of make his acceptance speech, Roemer introduces to the people his running mate: New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Mayor Bloomberg said that he is honored to be part of the Roemer Team, a symbol of freedom and democracy and make a prediction: the Roemer/Bloomberg ticket will win in a landslide."

Roemer has only 61 certain electoral votes but there are 23 states for a total 243 electoral votes that are toss-up, with Buddy Roemer that have a very small lead in many of these states. Ross Perot and Jesse Ventura must be envious of Roemer now, as are Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. That's a very interesting third party win, to say the least.
