Ike, definitely -- and quite possibly the best since FDR in either Party.

No scandals. Weak economic growth, but no financial calamities. Got America out of outright war in Korea. Enforced the rightful decisions of the Supreme Court on the desegregation of schools. Budget surpluses. Interstate Highway system. Let Joe McCarthy implode.

Ford, Eisenhower kept silent while McCarthy accused George Marshall of having communist sympathies.  That's not leadership, it's cowardice!

George W. Bush? When the book using Gibbon as a structural model for "The Decline and Fall of the United States" is through its prologue, Dubya is its first chapter. No President can undo his damage.

Eisenhower and Ford are the only two remotely decent human beings.
