But the police and army are in general a cesspool for far-right white extremists (not just in the US).
That's not true in the US.  The far-right white power guys here hate the govt.

Oh, it is true (especially in the US).

Take a look at this documentary about the US border patrol and how they sniper to death unarmed Mexican kids from their control posts on the wall between the US/Mexico border:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYmnngW3Zgo#t=9m01s

I have made the video start at the relevant section.
Your cite that police and the Army in the us is a cesspool for far right white extremists is an Al Jazeera documentary on the US Border Patrol (that isn't even available on the US youtube I might add)?  Odd.

From what I can tell the Ferguson police chief (who is thankfully not in command now), is a far-right white extremist.

So you can't watch the documentary in the link I have posted ?

Odd.

Ask yourself why... Maybe the US government doesn't want you to know the truth ?

There is not just the police which is wierd there.

The city is 67% Black, yet the mayor and 5 of the 6 councillors are White. There seems to be some domination of the Black majority by the White minority.

The city government's website is pretty weird too.

If you go to www.fergusoncity.com you'll be informed that "a group of students from Dr. Robert Wilson's undergraduate history class in the Honors College at the University of Missouri-St. Louis produced a short informational video about the City of Ferguson. " Also there's an announcement for the Grand Opening of the Family Fun Fair in the Ferguson Community Center. And the city's "Alert Center" on the right is set on green for "No Alerts at this time".

You have to scroll waaaaayyyyy down to the very bottom of the homepage where you finally find this brief statement from August 9:

That's quite possible, I haven't argued that there are NO white extremists in the Army or acting as cops.  I'm saying it's not prevalent.  The Army specifically not.

The private Facebook profile of Ferguson mayor James Knowles III can be found here:

https://www.facebook.com/james.w.knowles.1

For some reason, he and apparently also his closest relatives (a Patti Knowles, a Lisa Reed-Knowles, and a Lisa Knowles Willis) have all changed their profile picture to the city arms of Ferguson now.

In his timeline, comments like the following (from a "Stasie Xombie" who has also changed her profile pic to the Ferguson city arms) can be found:

He also seems to be a member of California Young Republicans. Probably not an asset in future elections, considering the demographics.

There is something really wierd about that city, the more we search about it.

Says Robert McCulloch, Prosecuting Attorney for St. Louis County on Governor Nixon's decision to put the Highway Patrol in charge in Ferguson.

Thank God Obama put no federal authorities in charge, otherwise certain people would start to cry over states rights. Tongue

Nixon didn't denigrate them. They denigrated themselves and their uniforms and the authority they had been granted through their actions.

What also worries me is the military-style outfit of the police in small towns like this one in MO:

Not even the riot police in Vienna (a city of 1.8 million) is outfitted like this (they have a few water cannon throwers and normal guns and pepper spray).

It's like they are trying to fight ISIS within a MO small town ... Tongue

Tender, that's a Lenco Bearcat, which Ferguson's PD doesn't have. That's St. Louis County PD, which isn't really a small town. As for why they have it, they won a grant from DHS that gave it to them for free to - fight terrorism, or something.

It looks like the USSR sending tanks against its own people. Cheesy

I am sure that the people who applied for the grant had good intentions, but they should have asked themselves 1/ whether there is a single terrorist in the world who gives a sh** about St. Louis, MO and 2/ how is this kind of thing going to be useful against a terrorist fabricating a bomb in his kitchen like the guy from Boston.

If that's him on the video,  expect the controversy to go away quickly.

Interesting development.

If true, that changes quite a bit.

But: does a police officer really have to kill an (unarmed) cigar robber ?

It still leaves a lot (if not all) questions about the shooting itself unanswered, though.

Agreed, but no one is going to care anymore. Most people will support the policeman now.

It doesn't excuse more-heavily-armed-than-Iraq SWAT teams and tear gas and media blackouts and such.  Such military response to the protests is still a scandal and a horror, no matter what bad things Michael may have done. (And, of course, gunning him down like that isn't justified or proportionate even if he did commit a crime anyway.)

Indeed, Hannity can't know what it's like to be young male and black in America.  This guy does though.

OMG, the comments. Ugh.

The documents do not actually make clear that the police officer was responding to Brown as a shoplifting suspect when the shooting happened. I think the connection was made after he was already dead.

Obviously robbing a gas station doesn't justify execution, but if it's true it makes me a lot more inclined to believe the policeman's story.

At the very least, the friend/also criminal's account wouldn't be very credible anymore.
