Ever since the Bridgegate scandal, some political observers and others have questioned whether New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie can carry his home state against the Democratic nominee in 2016? If nominated, can Christie carry New Jersey?

This time last year, I would have said yes. But now almost definitely not.

Not against Clinton. Against Biden or Schweitzer, maybe.

I'm a well documented Christie supporter and it's on record that I think people WAY overblown how much his scandal hurt him, but I'm not sure there was ever a time he could have vs. a credible Democrat.  I think he can in a wave vs. someone like Joe Manchin.

Can does not mean will.

I imagine that New Jersey will be rather elastic with Christie as the nominee.

He could lost it by twelve points if he loses the popular vote by two.

He could win it by six points if he wins the popular vote by the same amount.
