LA and NYC are both close
If I have to live somewhere near the centre, easily NYC
Suburbs, easily LA
Well, maybe LA is a tad better, but just because of the weather...

LA, no contest.

Los Angeles... and I see my opinion isn't very popular Sad

Yeah, some people talk about how this from biased against Republican, but it's really biased against good weather. Tongue

It's a strain of Stockholm Syndrome I suppose. One that I'm perfectly fine with, as LA is crowded enough as it is.

My kind of town, it is.

I have also been to all three. Chicago and New York have a lot of similarities and they are both cool cities. Chicago is smaller and feel more like a consistent city whereas NYC feels like five separate cities. Chicago and New York both have seasons, which I like. They both are full of history and culture and great local food and passionate sports fans.

None of that can be said about LA. I have family there and they love it, but it isn't for me. No local culture or food or sports or seasons or traditions. Just desert and smog.

1) Chicago IL

2) New York NY

3) LA CA

LA, then Chicago. I wouldn't live in New York if you paid me to.

I don't particularly care for Los Angeles, but I don't understand what criteria you could possibly be using to accuse it of lacking sports. Los Angeles also vies with New York in terms of having the greatest variety of good food in the country.

Chicago is the only one of the three that I would find preferable to drinking bleach.

I picked New York, with Chicago a close second.

Honestly, I think LA is a dreadful place, and its only redeeming quality is the weather.

San Francisco, IMO, combines the best qualities of all three.

It obviously has sports teams, but they aren't popular. I know Lakers games have done pretty well but none of the other teams do well at selling tickets. In New York and Chicago I feel as though there are more diehard fans for every sport, even when the team sucks, and you have the sportsbar culture around the stadium and the cities and these teams are literally beloved.

Would have said LA, but in a few months after I get to know NYC better, I might change my mind.

I definitely prefer the Los Angeles restaurant scene to New York's. It's a much more experimental and creative city, plus there are plenty more options when it comes to trying to eat healthy.

But we have the Dodgers and Korean taco trucks!

Also, what are seasons? Smiley

New York. I have always been my happiest when there. I'm one of those people that romanticizes it. Nothing in life would make me happier than being a resident (assuming a) it wasn't like Brownsville and b) I had some sort of source of good money).

DGAF about cold weather. If anything, I kinda prefer it.

There are legitimate criticisms of Los Angeles but this has to be the most absurd, especially regarding food. Los Angeles likely had the best foodie scene of all the 3 cities. Definitely better than Chicago and likely better than NYC. Can any of those cities beat Korean tacos? I didn't think so.

I was born in New York and lived there for a total of seven non-consecutive years; of the three, it is the city I am most familiar with by far, so it would have to be that. (I have family in the New York and Chicago areas, but the Chicago relatives are far more distant. I've never been to LA -- not even the airport -- and have no one there).
