Neither Cuomo nor Hochul will hit 70%, and I wouldn't be surprised if neither reaches 65%.

Yeah, cracking 60% should be Cuomo's goal. Hochul's goal should just be to win.

I saw Wu and Hochul campaigning when I got off the 96th st stop on the UWS today. Hilariously, it looks like all of Wu's campaign aides are my third year classmates.

Teachout was apparently in Poughkeepsie today. Probably should have went over and saw her.

Anyone want to make a prediction about an off-chance result?

For example, if you really think Teachout might win or Malcolm Smith might remain in the State Senate, etc.

How many of the registered NY Democrats live in NYC?

Who knows, maybe I can get a few people to vote for her.

You support a Teachout win in order to let Astorino have a chance to pull an upset? Tongue

Along those lines, but the last time I hoped for something like that to happen I ended up with Mayor Bill de Blasio...

1) You don't like Cuomo? I though you were a pro Cuomo republican???
2) De Blasio is a far leftist??? What has he done?
3) Was there a chance for the NY republican mayoral candidate to pull an upset?

Simfan, for some ridiculous reason, thinks that de Blasio hasn't been an incredibly successful mayor who people across the city love and admire. Best not to listen to his opinions on this.

What has he done De Blasio exactly? The only thing I know about him is that he doesn't eat pizzas the same way than the other New Yorkers???

Teachout would easily beat the Republican if she somehow won the nomination, so there should be no worries about that.

Hillary Clinton is robocalling for Cuomo/Hochul

I guess she wants to stop New York from electing a female governor over a corrupt male incumbent. It'll be good to remember to bring this up when she or her supporters mention something about the "glass ceiling".

While I agree that Clinton helping out Cuomo is obviously just blatant opportunism on her part, I think it's kind of silly to allege that this is in anyway hypocritical of her feminist beliefs. Advocating gender equality and supporting more female voices in politics doesn't mean you can't ever support a man running for office against a woman. By that logic if Sarah Palin ran for president in 2012 every feminist should have supported her just because of her gender

But supporting Teachout over Cuomo is obvious thing to do regardless of gender. A lot of Hillary's supporters claim the anti Hillary people are being sexist. Hillary's strongest primary opponents will likely be male, and they will play that card repeatedly. Well, I support the best person regardless of gender, and it's time for a certain woman to break the glass ceiling of the New York governorship.

Teachout would probably still get over 60% of the vote against the Republican candidate if she ends up beating Cuomo.

Considering that Cuomo would still be on the ballot on three minor party lines, I doubt that.  There's a good chance she and Cuomo would split the Democratic vote, allowing Astorino to win.  And even if Cuomo were to back out of the race after losing the Democratic primary, I doubt an unknown ultra-liberal with no political experience would do well enough to get 60%.  Astorino would clean up Upstate and in the suburbs.

No, Cuomo isn't so bad. But I mean they elected Pataki, so why not...?
