It's because Cuomo is only one example of how Italian-Americans are horrible people.

Jesus Christ, are you incapable of not being an asshole for five seconds?

The Cuomo-Hochul spread is a lot smaller than I thought.  The Cuomo machine did its job in getting the machine vote to Hochul well.

And whatever it did not, she did a good job compensating in the Upstate. She is a solid politician, always liked her.

Primarying people aside, New York politics is terrible.  We need actual grassroots progressive organizing.  We've never created that infrastructure because we never needed it to win statewide.  Relying on these corrupt unions and machine politics might be fine in an general election, but it leaves us with no strength to hold these bums accountable.

Dem party is, primarily, urban. You have any problem with that?

I don't know what you mean.

Perhaps not, but unfortunately neither is Cuomo.

This is one of those strange elections where I agree with Teachout on basically nothing but I still wish she could have won, not because I think Astorino would have had a chance, but just getting rid of Cuomo would have been good in and of itself.

Where there are a lot of people, there has to be a good machine to run them Smiley

Teachout can't concede to Cuomo because he didn't give her his number. What an asshole.

That would require acknowledging her existence, which I doubt is any more likely to happen tomorrow than it was yesterday.

I don't know. He may kind of have to after this.

If not, the very first question he is asked in a 2016 Dem primary debate should be "You completely refused to acknowledge the very existence of the woman who challenged you in the Democratic gubernatorial primary in 2014. Why should the women voting in this primary give you their consideration?"

My thoughts exactly.  I really like Hochul.  I considered switching my registration on temp basis to Dem just to vote for her in the primary as I will still vote for the GOP ticket in the general election.  I also wanted to vote to Cuomo in the Dem primary in such a scenario as I have a high level of respect for him although I will not vote for him in the general.

Completely agree with all of this. Especially the Italian-American part and I am one.

I doubt that will be necessary. Cuomo isn't really the type that will be okay with getting curbstomped by Hillary. He'll be sitting it out.

Indeed. If this race narrows I'm endorsing Astorino.

A chance - may be. If you consider rounding to the integers - not unlikely Smiley

90% reporting, 61.1% (and he is now ahead in Orange county - by a single vote!)

Hawkins will almost certainly get my vote in November. I won't be voting for Cuomo or the other Republican.

It's eerie isn't it? What's even the point of the rest of the state voting.

The rest of Erie came in. With 92% reporting (78% in the Bronx) it is 61.6%  Cuomo. Might make it to 62%.

Also, Hochul is at 59.7%. Would be interesting to see if she hits 60%.
