It's pretty awesome how much Astorino and Cuomo hate each other.

It would have been much more entertaining for them to go after each other one-on-one without the Libertarian and Green party guys.

Yeah if this were a real race, definitely. It's basically been Hawkins and the libertarian answering the question, and then Cuomo and Astorino spending ten seconds on the question before going back to attacking each other.

Yep. Cuomo wins by 20-25 before this debate stuck on PBS and wins by 20-25 after.

I only saw closing arguments, but I think Howie's was the strongest out of all four. The only thing two of them talked about were property taxes, and the Libertarian really fumbled his closing argument.

You mean, sometimes he has a southern accent which cuts in and out.

^ Has he ever lived in the south? I know he's lived in Connecticut and New York but nothing about if he lived south of the mason dixon line.

Nah, he grew up in San Francisco, then lived in New Hampshire, then moved to Syracuse. No idea where he got that accent.

Why is it surprising or disappointing that a Green party candidate would want the most successful national Green party candidate ever to campaign with him??

I'd be shocked if Astorino takes Westchester County, at this point.

Apparently Astorino has run an entirely Westchester County-focused campaign, so it'll be quite embarrassing for him to lose there. But Cuomo will destroy him out in the Long Island burbs.

"Hawkins says that his accent is native to a particular neighborhood of San Mateo (in San Fransisco), between the railroad tracks and the Bayshore freeway, which had been settled mostly by people from the South, whites and blacks. The neighborhood was diverse: “Blacks were probably the largest group”

I wonder if this gubernatorial election will birth a two faction division between the Democrats.

Working Class/Left wing student Democrats who live more within the city, with Socially Liberal views and harder to the left views on economic issues.

The Peripheral NYC living/Suburban/Upstate affluent and or educated Democrat with Socially Liberal views and Moderate economic views to the point of having a libertarian bent towards Taxes, who are the midpoint between The left faction and a generic Right wing New Yorker. Reminiscent of the Clinton-ites of the 90's.

I guess he finally realized that he's never going to be President so he's just going to govern like a 100% conservative Republican from here on out.

Maybe that's why he's so miserable on the campaign trail too. He just wanted this re-election as a stepping stone, now it's "pointless".

I'm not voting for the guy but I must admit that I'm more and more amused by his bizarreness. He's certainly a character.

Perhaps but most, if not all, of those types of books are obviously terrible.

Sales of Cuomo's book reach 1,480 two weeks after its release. He may even crack Amazon's top 20,000! No word on what Harper Collins plans to do with the remaining 198,520 copies in its initial printing.

Do you guys think Astorino could hold Cuomo to a 10% or so margin? Cuomo's campaign seems to be a disaster at this point, he looked like a waffling incompetent with the ebola nurse thing, and it looks like Hawkins will get at least 7%.

I doubt it, but at this point I'd be shocked if Cuomo cracked 60% (which at the beginning of the year was thought to be a given).
