I heard or read somewhere that Hard Choices had already sold half a million copies.

When she was either on Stewart or Colbert one of them mentioned the half-million copies sold.

Comedy sells better than some politician's biography.

Thomas Piketty sold 158k? A hardcore book on macroeconomics? That's pretty damn good. All hope for mankind is not lost yet.

Dr. Carson is an interesting guy. He was raised in one of the most heavily Democratic portions of one of the most heavily Democratic cities in the country, has academic credentials most only dream of having, and performed what is by any measure, a miracle.

Yet, somehow, he grew up to be absolutely insane.

It's less of a book on economics and more of a book for liberals to mentally get off to

One factor could be that there's more curiosity in Carson than Clinton.

HRC is a known quality.

Ben Carson is an obscure guy talked about as a presidential contender. Conservatives have more incentive to check out his book to see what all the fuss is about than liberals do to get insights from someone who has been a national figure for more than a generation.

If I recall correctly, he was sort of wayward in his younger years, unlike Hillary, who pretty much grew up a normal person. People are always more curious about those who were not exactly normal in their past.

I like how the article didn't bother to mention that Carson's book was released 3 weeks earlier.

Yes, it had a head start, but I think it only recently retook the lead over Hard Choices.  One Nation is now ahead of Hard Choices on the NYT best sellers list, despite having been out for three weeks longer, as you say:

Most "Real Americans" prefer to read Christian "self help/self reliance" stories like this than they would like to read "Hard Choices", "Decision Points", etc.

As a fan of crime fiction, I just wish people would quit buying James Patterson books.

It's mostly full of misleading literary references.

Carson almost killed a man when he was younger. Did Hillary do anything that interesting?
