While a generally think Grayson is a nut, but it turns out he has done something good in Congress. This bill would stop funding by the federal government to give local police ridiculously powerful military weapons. Only 62 people voted for it in the House, 19 R's, 43 D's. 355 voted against it, many citing the War on Terror the reason why local police need military weapons. Some of the prominent people who voted for it were Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, Raul Labrador, Barbara Lee, Alan Grayson (obviously), Hank Johnson, and Keith Ellison.

The establishment continues to be HPs vis-a-vis civil liberties. Nothing new.

As it turns out, the War on Terror here within the United States border really isn't that kind of war. So, you know, unless we're worried about a mass invasion starting in the midwest for some reason, we can probably do away with the tanks and camo when it comes to the local police.

It's not just the politicians.  The eroding of Americans' civil liberties won't end until Americans actually begin caring about their own civil liberties.  Look at Boston after the bombing.
