I know that the Northeast has been inundated with special elections as of late, so I'd like to formally remind all voters that the general election to elect the entire Northeast Assembly will be held this coming weekend (August 22 to 24).

I would also remind any prospective candidates to please declare their candidacy in the appropriate thread.

There will also be the Northeast electoral reform amendment on the ballot.

If someone could tell me exactly the deadline in this sentence:

Until the Wednesday... is the Wednesday included or not. Is the deadline late Wednesday night or late Tuesday night?
I just want to have the correct deadline.

That would be interpreted as Wednesday being the final day to declare.

I believe that prospective (and some declared) candidates have missed the boat on this:

Unless I'm mistaken, the 13th was the deadline, meaning that we only have two declared candidates. If the deadline amendment hasn't been passed then this is probably a compelling argument for it.

That, unfortunately, is exactly correct.  However, I will be interpreting any declaration made after the deadline as one that will be accepting write-in votes.
