Clearly he's just biding his time until he makes a run and dethrones the evil corporatist warmonger!

Hillary can deliver the Congress to the Democrats, then you can teabag her from the left and force her to sign laws to her left. That's all you should want out of a President if you are a progressive.

Some people seem to be under the bizarre illusion that Warren or Sanders would do any better at forcing Boehner to pass their agenda than Obama currently is.

Well they're white, you see, so they'd probably do marginally better.

Nope. Warren is an Indian. At least when she's campaigning and filling out her info at Harvard.

Well, Warren or Sanders would sign a lot less right-wing legislation into law than Hillary.

Yes, Howard Dean is such a right-winger. So is Warren, since she signed a letter urging Hillary to run. Oh, and Sanders complimented her a few times in interviews. He is also a right-winger and appeaser for praising Satan.

But anyway, what right-wing legislation do you assume Hillary would sign, and why do you think she would?

Right-wing legislation like NAFTA, DOMA, Repeal of Glass Steagall, Telecom deregulation, DMCA, Mickey Mouse copyright extension and the like that her husband signed.

I think this is fair point -- the way to get a progressive President Hillary Clinton is to elect a progressive Congress -- admittedly a difficult assignment given the gerrymandering in U.S. House districts.  But I consider judicial nominations a big deal and that is hugely impacted by the makeup of the U.S. Senate.

Back in 2008 many people were hoping that President Obama would be some liberal hero/magician once in the Oval Office.  History and experience should make them more realistic.

The first step to get a progressive President Hillary Clinton is to start looking for random people with the name Hillary Clinton.

You realize it's incredibly sexist to assume she'd be identical to her husband, right?

You also realize that Congress matters, right? I don't know why it's in vogue among the True Left to think that as long as they get a "pure" president, Congress will magically become irrelevant or be willing to pass their entire agenda. Most of the legislation you're bashing was passed by a right-wing Congress, in fact, a lot was passed by a veto-proof majority.

When it's gotten to the point where the True Progressives™ are throwing their hero and champion in 2004 under the bus, that tent is getting awfully small.

Besides, it's not just Dean. Hillary is supported by most progressives, both in terms of elected officials and in the polls.

Hillary's problem is that her political instincts are genius-level good. She knows exactly what the right thing to do is, and then goes and does the precise opposite. Take for example her position on arming the Syrian rebels. While she more likely than not was correct, she should have seen it was a losing proposition politically.

Next I expect to see her with a new proposal to ban violent video games, strengthen the NSA, and declare war on Iran.
