What if Angus King didn't run for Snowe's seat in Maine after she decided to retire out of nowhere, but it was still a 3-way race between a generic I, Dill, and Summers? Who would have won then?

You can also discuss all generics.

The Democrats would probably have nominated someone better than Dill, but if those where the candidates Summers would've won.

IIRC, Pingree announced as soon as Snowe retired but retracted that as soon as Angus entered the fray.

Mike Michaud who was planning to run until King got in, IIRC.

Dill, Michaud or Pingree would have won by a sizeable margin

Pingree and Michaud had some sort of deal where Pingree wouldn't run for the seat.
