It seems to be a trend. Ask the questions, and I'll try answering.

Is your username based on a hawkish foreign policy? When's the next time you think a Republican presidential candidate will carry Connecticut?

The name is because Hawks are cool, and the fact that I am not a warmonger, so I am a "Freedom Hawk" instead.

Honestly, unless CT uses the congressional district method or adopts the NPVIC, I don't see the GOP winning it for a while, if only due to Hartford, New Haven, Fairfield, Danbury, and Bridgeport's influence (cough cough governor race 2010)

In the loosest sense of the word. There are many parts of it I dislike, but the general message of being your own god resonates with me.

Horrible governor. His laws have brought a lot of people I know down, and he also uses sleazy tactics to get his agenda passed. Sure! Let's pass very gun grabby laws right after a horrible tragedy when no one is thinking straight!

I read this: "Libertarian at heart. It's best a philosophy."

So how do you feel about the Libertarian Party? Not a fan?

It's great. However, until it gains national power, there is no use in registering in it

Who do you want the Republican nominee for 2016 to be?

Ideally: Ben Carson or Rob Portman
Realistically: Rand Paul

In my book, they're interchangeable. They ARE synonyms, after all.

Oh man. I never see him brought up here. They won't win because presidential year, but I would love to see Chris Shays or Rob Simmons come back into the limelight, even if just for a little while.

What is your opinion of Linda McMahon?

Who did you support in the 2010 and 2012 Republican primaries for CT-Sen? Do you think the general election results would have been different if Simmons won in 2010 or if Shays won in 2012, and if so, how?

Why do you think Chris Shays performed so poorly/had no shot in the 2012 Republican Senate primary?

Who would you like to see take on Chris Murphy in 2018?

Linda McMahon is a cancer to CT. She just needs to stop trying. She lost to MURPHY, who is the biggest manchild in existence, and is an absolute loon.

I supported Simmons in 2010 and Shays in 2012. In 2010, I think Simmons could have squeaked by, and Shays barely losing because of higher turnout.

Shays only lost because the CT Republican Party thought McMahon was a good candidate.

Part of me wants to see Jodi Rell take on Murphy. She might actually win, considering midterm year and all.

That's what doesn't make sense to me. She did terribly in 2010 for it being such a good Republican year (especially with a horribly unpopular Dem incumbent), and it's not like the 2012 primary was close...McMahon won by like a 50 point margin though. And Chris Shays on paper is a strong candidate who got a lot of strong endorsements and has every reason to be very popular among CT Republicans and independents.

I've no idea, man. There's a reason they lost a perfectly winnable race in 2010

What's with your beef with Hillary Clinton?

I'm just getting sick of the pseudo-worship she is getting from people here. It's nothing personal against her- I would actually vote for her over Jeb Frickin Bush. But, at the same time, hyping her up as this invincible titan that will decimate everyone based on some early polls and the fact that she is a woman is really working my already short temper.

3 way tie between Hassan, Beshear, and Beebe. Nixon is pretty good too
