God I forgot how good this show is. They're currently in the middle of the second season. Just showed the episode where Homer meets his half-brother in Detroit and designs an insane car for him.

I might, but I think you have to give your first-born child to James Dolan and let Isiah Thomas sexually harass you to get FXX with Cablevision in Brooklyn.

Don't get that channel. Sad

It is easy to forget how utterly brilliant this show used to be thanks to years and years of mediocrity.

Yeah, it's wild. It hasn't really aged at all either. If they broadcast season 2 of The Simpsons today for the first time, it would be one of the best shows on television.

Easily. Seasons 2-8 or so are pretty untouchable.

I'm watching some of it.  Yeah, I'd forgotten how good it could be too.  Brings back some good memories.  I'd probably be watching more if BBC America wasn't showing Doctor Who most of the time right now also.

I do have to wonder what the valiant Hellenes of old would be thinking of our use of the term "marathon."

I've been watching it off and on, and recording what I miss. There's so many episodes in the early years I've never seen or haven't seen in ages. I think I have about 70 or so episodes saved so far.

I already own seasons 6-8 on DVD (which I think is the show at its height), so I'll skip over those. I'll be more selective after that, but I definitely want to catch all the Treehouse of Horror episodes. (I can't believe The Raven was part of the original.)

I haven't (I don't have FXX at school, and Verizon doesn't stream it), but I've also seen every episode multiple times.

Just watched a good bit of Season 4 (my favorite season) yesterday. The show was really incredible up through about Season 9.
