So, I've been seeing a lot of discussion of what was under the bedsheet, with many people being convinced that we're going to come back to this later in the series. But it seemed pretty cut and dry to me that it was actually just another kid in the home, right? The whole point of the episode doesn't work otherwise.

It wasn't specified (Moffat didn't specify either in his column for Doctor Who Magazine, IIRC) and it really doesn't matter, IMHO.

I've really been enjoying this season (apart from one or two slower episodes). I think it's the best since Series 4. I really liked the way this story arc was handled, much closer to the earlier seasons. I've been partial to the more subtle arcs that give way to a big finale.

As for last night's episode, just wow. Moffat really hit it out of the park on that one, definitely one of the best of his run. Unfortunately, the preview gave away the return of the Cybermen, but not the significance of their return. Obviously, the biggest surprise was the reveal of the return of The Master. I thought it was somebody from the past, but that wasn't what I was expecting. I'm looking forward to the explanation as to how. And am I the only who thought the actual meaning of the three words was downright chilling (as in, it literally gave me chills)? With a very strong episode like that, I'm afraid my expectations are set too high for the second part.

Osgood Sad you were too good for this world.

Pretty clever twist at the end - so Danny was a soldier. I think, looking back, Moffat placed some rather subtle clues throughout this series pointing to Danny's past career. It really was a very understated element to the character, so many people probably never even picked up that Danny was once a soldier.

He kept emphasizing that Danny was a medic, but it seemed rather obvious he was trying to cover up what he was.

As I expected, this episode did not live up to expectations. I quite liked Missy (i.e. this incarnation of the Master). Having seen enough Classic Doctor Who Master stories, she fits the role exceptionally well. There's really no way she won't be returning next season. The big reveal as to her plan for the Cybermen just didn't work for me.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about the episode.  I think it was pretty good.  But yeah, I don't think Missy is dead.  It looked like the teleportation from earlier in the episode.

Overall, I think this has been the best season since season 5.  I'm glad they developed Clara's character more this season.  I hope she and Capaldi as 12 are both back next season.

The Master/Missy has been vaporised on at least two occasions and come back.

After literally refusing to regenerate, having one's body burned to ash only to come back from genetic material on a ring, there's no way Missy is dead.

I assumed it was teleportation at first too, which will probably be the explanation when she returns. The Master is a staple of Doctor Who, almost or on the level of the Daleks and the Cybermen.

(Apparently, Michelle Gomez has confirmed that she will return for Series 9. Smiley)

Gomez is actually the first 'Master' younger than the character - she was born a few months after "Terror of the Autons" aired.
