It depends if it contains Dihydrogen Monoxide or not.

At least half the liquid I consume is tap water, and I think it should be higher.

So Germans use to drink water in glass bottles? I had no idea. Here you only buy in in plastic bottles.

Indeed, and I also prefer glass (and carbonation!). Smiley

FD.  I drink lots of it.

The only person I know who doesn't drink water is my sister's father-in-law in France.  Maybe he gets enough hydration from wine. Tongue

You are welcome to drink my tap water. Never mind that it tastes like pennies and turns anything it touches rusty orange over time.

Or should I be a chump and invest in a new well and thousands of dollars worth of water treatment equipment so I can pass your chumpiness test?

Would a Brita help?  I understand some people are forced to live in sh**tty places and that doesn't make someone a chump.  I'd recommend getting out of there as soon as you turn 18 though.  I had an apt for awhile that looked like it had seamonkeys floating in the tap water, I told guests it just added protein, but few bought it (none drank it).

All that iron ore got finely milled by the glaciers and mixed into the ground water. Buying a brita would be an exercise in futility. We fill up water jugs at a friends house for cooking and drinking. Living in an old cabin by the lake has its charms... And draw backs.

Yeah, seems to be in quite Germanic thing, at least I saw a lot in Oberbayern and iirc it was more or less the same in Austrian Tyrol where I made a few incursion. Dunno whether that's so in Germanic Switzerland.

But then when you pronounce Switzerland in a thread about water, you must quote that wonderfull taste of Nestlé CEO:

There are 2 ways to see water, either you think this is a public good, something that should benefit to anyone without counterpart, we consider this is an extremist option, or you consider this is something that needs private investment.

You'll find the exact sentence in that quite good documentary aired on arte recently (might still be available on their site, if you speak French or German). Nestlé being the 1st embottled water seller in the world.

'Amusing' how in the US they manage to own everybody by making big profits on selling tap water into bottles with 'Poland Springs', the documentary also showed how little cities in the Maine were being totally screwed by the exploitation of this water then sold all over the country.

Not that they are the only ones to do that anyways, Coca, Pepsi, etc, are all enjoying the 'maggic of the bottle'...

Water is the perfect beverage. Yesterday I was having a nice dinner with my partner. A leftover roasted chicken, light salad, and some very salty fish and chip shop chips. She was washing it down with Sunkist. Why would you interrupt all of those delicious flavours with syrupy artificial orange?

Water, on the other hand, perfectly goes with everything. And it's easy to stop drinking when you're quenched. Its taste won't linger uninvited. It is wonderful.

Have any of you ever met someone who says they "don't like the taste" of water, so they never drink it alone? These people ought to be thrown out on the street and shot. They are horrible, horrible people.

Well, I knew of someone who pretended only drinking Coke, and only Coca Cola, because you know, taste of Pepsi is so different.
