A necessary evil. While I would prefer a system where unions do not have a coercive monopoly on labor, if such a system is going to exist, then employees should have the right not to participate in such an agreement.

SPC's thoughts are mine as well. I'm fairly pro labor by Republican standards, but right-to-work laws make sense to me.

Dems think companies should be allowed to make union-membership a precondition of employment. Not particularly bright.

The worst. The closed shop should be legalized and unions should be given control over all hiring via the hiring hall.

HL (D). This is a litmus test for me; I would never support any candidate that supports right-to-work. Ideally, Democrats should be going on the offensive at the federal level and work to repeal Section 14(b) of Taft-Hartley and outlaw right-to-work laws.

Neutral.  I feel that if one does not want to join one, he shouldn't be forced, but I also believe and know that unions help and if workers want to form one, they should, and not be punished for it.

Not particularly bright.

Are there any other services where monopolistic negotiation of prices would be a good idea, or just labor?

Okay. You can save that for the anti-union threads. Right-to-work only gives workers the right not to join a union or participate in collective bargaining.
