Ugh.........I guess Rand Paul? I want the military budget cut and NSA shyt addressed, so...

The only plus about Christie would be his bipartisanship. Otherwise he's pretty much just a run-of-the-mill right wing loon.

If this question had been made one year before the result would have been completely different.

Rand is crazy at least Christie is a moderate.

Christie isn't a moderate. He's a mecha-hawk, tough on crime, pro-drug war, anti-gay marriage, pro-life conservative who happens to be from the Northeast. On a good deal of issues, Rand Paul is closer to the center.

Are you serious Paul's voting record is closest to Ted Cruz in the Senate to think he's anyone near the center shows your political ignorance.

Lol.

And are you serious? Take a look at all the causes Paul has taken on that Christie wouldn't dare touch because they violate conservative orthodoxy. Prison sentencing, Demilitarization, and a fairly neutral if not noninterventionist foreign policy. I wouldn't say Paul isn't a conservative, his fiscal policy puts him way way to the right and certainly makes him more right-wing than Christie, but to say that there isn't an argument that Paul, on a decent number of issues, is closer to the center than Christie shows your political ignorance.

Paul, I would hate to see a smug guy like Christie in there even though he'd be comedic gold for his tenure.

Rand Paul by about a thousand miles over Rudy Giuliani's socially conservative brother.

Well I meant to click Christie so I guess it's even!

Chris Christie to me just seems like a more down-to-earth human being who would be a much more practical president than Paul, even if Paul does hold better stances on certain issues. I just don't believe anything I agree with Paul about would get addressed if he were President.

Easily Rand Paul; though I'd still either vote for a third-party candidate or write someone in.

The funny thing is, depending on what type of troll you're attempting, you could mean either one. Smiley

I agree more with Rand Paul than I do Chris Christie. Namely the military budget and the militarization of police.

My point was from your POV, you could see Christie as a "RINO" for having a bipartisan record, being on camera not hating the President and signing NJ's version of the DREAM Act ... Or you could be calling Paul a "RINO" for his libertarian leanings on civil liberties, stances on drug decriminalization and non-interventionist views.

IMO, both are ridiculous assertions.  They're both simply Republicans who don't mindlessly toe the party platform line (for God's sake, it's a piece of paper with dozens of policy stances that have no inherent ideological connection to each other), and God bless them for that.

I've never faulted and never will fault him for at least two of those.

I'll go with Rand Paul.

Chris Christie proved he is untrustworthy with that bridge scandal. To deliberately cause that because he didn't get a mayor's gubernatorial endorsement, which may have been good for, say, an additional two-point margin in carrying New Jersey with his 2013 re-election (which he won with more than 60 percent of the statewide vote), is not only destructive but also makes Christie psychotic.

Strictly comparing these two to each other, it could be interesting to see just how truly "Liberatarian" a President Rand Paul would be. (Right now, all there is one's imagination.)
