And Francis will respond "yeah, whatever" and quickly return to bashing capitalism. Wink

Except he's condemned abortion in very strong terns, and Benedict has plenty of anti-capitalist quips, but somehow one's a conservative bull dog and the other's some liberal Episcopalian Roll Eyes

Oh come on. You can pretend everything is the same as always, but one must be blind not to notice the shift in emphasis.

And that makes him unwilling to condemn abortion how?

Your gremlin-like glee makes me suck to the stomach.

Hey what's a few million infant lives compared to muh feminism?

He's already championed his support for jailing people who smoke weed, so I see no reason why we would be unwilling to do the same for women who get abortions.

A game changer? Huh? Is the Pope condemning Planned Parenthood going to get anyone to quit supporting them? Like the Catholic Church hasn't been vocal enough on abortion and birth control. Seriously everyone knows their position. You can agree or disagree with it, but just saying "I really mean it!" isn't going to have any more effect than some Catholic bishop in a state with gay marriage condemning it is likely to get that state to repeal its law.

As for preventing people who work for Planned Parenthood from serving in any position in the church, how many are we talking about there? It has to be a number so miniscule to be essentially negligible.

I agree with BRTD it doesn't make much difference. Anyone who hasn't figured out Planned Parenthood does not conduct itself with accordance to the teachings of the Catholic Church is clearly delusional or living under a rock.

Also I have to wonder if Pope Francis even knows what Planned Parenthood is. It's a big world out there after all.
