This has been something that has been asked in the media, and many democrats wish the elections were held sooner, and feel more confident now than in November. How does the forum feel about this? I personally think that Republicans would do slightly better in November than today.

Absolutely November.

It seem that the GOP wave is only just now starting to build, and once pollsters shift to their LV models I suspect that the polling will shift even more decisively in the GOP's favor.  Democratic incumbents have had all summer to weaken their opponents' approvals, and so far most competitive races are either dead even or leaning to the Republican, which is absolutely awful if you're a Democratic incumbent.

I think the GOP would pick up more Senate seats in an election this November than one today.

Today, the Democrats would probably have an easier time in Colorado, Alaska, and North Carolina than they would in November. New Hampshire might also give a more decisive win to Shaheen if the election were held today than it would in November.

On the other hand, Republicans would probably do better in Iowa now than they would on November 4.
