Two of the forum's (and my) favorite states.  Not sure which will win.

It's kind of a tough choice for me.  I love mountains, but Minnesota is more watery.

Colorado, as it's more similar to where I live now.

Colorado. It might not be quite warm enough for me, but it's clearly better than Minnesota.

I think all Western US cities feel the same to an extent.  Low population density, ugly 1960s-80s buildings, identical suburbs with identical mini-malls and identical tract homes.  Aside from weather, is Denver really all that much better than Phoenix?  Maybe Colorado is better if you're outdoorsy, but there's no great city in Colorado for sure.

The Twin Cities, in contrast, is one of my favorite cites in the US.  People are nice, liberal, smart and tolerant.  There's a good amount of art and culture.  People are community-minded and friendly.  It's not that pretty and the winter is awful, but overall, I prefer Minnesota by a long shot.

Ballerado of course.

Huh? Most US cities in general feel the same.  There's very few cities with a "unique" vibe to them (like NYC, Las Vegas, San Francisco).

What are you talking about? "In contrast"? You have all those qualities in Denver too. You might as well be saying "I don't like Coke. Pepsi, in contrast, is one of my favorite drinks."

I mean, you're allowed to have that opinion but your arguments are bizarre.

I don't like most US cities.  But, the older cities tend to have much more character and better overall urban design.

Seriously.  They're pretty similar, in culture and overall feel.  Why is Denver so much better than Phoenix?

No, I've always felt Denver has a western US culture and Minneapolis has a Midwestern/Norwegian culture.  People in Denver are friendly, sure.  But, the Colorado culture reminds me of Phoenix or Albuquerque or Tucson or anywhere in the Southwest.  It's not like the Minnesota culture at all.  It's more outdoorsy and less communtarian than the midwestern culture, just to try to define my non-specific impressions.

I love mountains and I want to vacation there some time, but I'm a child of the lakes.

Colorado to visit, but Minnesota to live.

Most definitely Colorado. I have no tolerance for the extreme cold of Minnesota and I prefer the more socially liberal beliefs of Colorado.

Both states have exurbs that are filled with typical right-wing ultranationalist beer-bellied middle aged bearded yeomen.

Denver has terrible weather. Brutal cold in winter...brutal heat in summer...snow in May... 60 one day...-20 the next. Minneapolis has sh**tty weather compared to most places... But Denver is hardly a climate paradise.

And if you're thinking in the mountains...it gets nearly as cold there as northern MN.

Are you implying that 60 i brutally hot? Because that would be one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard.

For December it is. Some days it is warmer here than it is Atlanta or even Northern Florida.
