Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is not a favorite of progressives. He is viewed as DINO/Lieberman-type, and some view him as corrupt. He faces a potentially tough challenge from law professor Zephyr Teachout, who he's tried to block from being on the September 9, 2014 primary ballot. Some Democrats fear that if Hillary Clinton doesn't run in 2016, he may run and that money will give him the nomination over Warren or O'Malley or Biden. If he is nominated, in 2016, can he win the presidency of the United States?

If Clinton doesn't run, a lot of Democrats will come out of the woodwork, and it will be a wide open race. Cuomo is likely to be the standard-bearer for the more moderate wing of the party, which could be an advantage, considering the progressive primary voters are likely to have more choices, which would split up their votes. With the money he could raise, and barring a Feingold or Gillibrand run, he's possibly the most electable of the potential Democrats in 2016.

I would wager that his staunch gun control beliefs, a whiff of big urban machine corruption and slagging off social conservatives wouldn't endear him to moderates.

Just because a candidate is "centrist" doesn't mean he's good. Republicans have found that out with Romney.

If he's lucky, he'll get a hypothetical federal delegate for $62 million like Guiliani did. I mean this is Guilani, who once had like a 110% approval rating.

Option 1 and option 3. However, judging from how much true Liberals hate this guy, he has no chance in the primary.

There's no chance he'll make it through the Democratic primary.

Centrist implies Romney had any views to begin with.

No, only in a Dem wave yr. The  fact the Dems have turned to Hilary, leads to believe that there needs to be a consensus candidate in a 3rd Dem term that can win.

It looks like a somewhat neutral yr with small pickups in the Senate.

I can't picture him as President. I couldn't picture his father as President either.

Indeed. He's having enough problems as it is in the gubernatorial primary in his own state.

Cuomo doesn't want to debate his Democratic primary opponent, Zephyr Teachout, or his GOP opponent Rob Astorino. If he runs in 2016, how will his debate skills be on national TV although he's a lawyer?

Yes, as a Republican.
