If Mitch McConnell wins re-election in 2014, I won't be surprised if he ran again in 2020. He wants to be a powerful figure in Kentucky. If he does run for re-election in 2020, can you see him winning  or will Kentucky voters just say no?

He'll probably face a similar Tossup race scenario in 2020 too.

I'd prefer he retire after Reid does in 2016, but if not, I think he'll become more vulnerable.

He'll retire in 2020, but I think that he would lose anyway.

No, he will retire since he'll be older than God's mother.

I don't see him as the type to go quietly into that long goodnight.

Nah, he'll retire and let someone else take over (hopefully a Democrat or Massie).

What was I thinking? He's guaranteed to win for as long as he wants.

He'll be practically fossilized by 2020.

If McConnell is still Majority Leader in 2020 he will run again, if he's in the minority he will probably retire. I think it's more likely than not the GOP will have a Senate majority at least after 2018.

He will likely be back in Minority at some point. But, there is a pathway for Dems to maintain Majority in 2018. ND & IN are probably gone, but Kelly Marshall can beat Dean Heller in NV. The Dems had a 51/49 majority prior. And still have 50 seats after 2018. So, I vote yeah, he will retire in 2020.

And with Hillary coattails in 2020, add a few more seats.

I say he will probably retire, but no way a Democrat wins his seat.

A pro-life SSM strong supporter might. Perhaps Ben Chandler or Andy Beshear?

When McConnell took office in 1985 there were 37,000 coal miners in KY.  When Obama took office in 2009, there were 19,000.  As of 3Q 2015 there were 9,356.  By 2020 there will fewer than 5,000 with EKY pretty much down to nothing.  McConnell will have completed God's work and retire.

If Obamacare isnt repealed and Clinton is elected prez, McConnell is likely to retire. He has made defunding planned parenthood in Obamacare repeal, which hurt Ayotte's chance, his signature move this election.

2020 wont be friendly towards GOP, as Tillis, Gardner & Ernst chances arent rosey. As Sullivan, should Begich return, wil be defeated, too.

Even if McConnell retires, this seat is Safe R in 2020. Kentucky is 100% gone for Democrats, end of story.

He's not that old, and furthermore, he's aging physically about as quickly as the animal he looks like moves:
