Statement from Blanche Lincoln Campaign

After seeing a remarkable surge from +5 to +10 in Georgia's upcoming primary, we are canceling our ad buys in Georgia and moving those resources to California and New Jersey instead.

Quotes from the campaign trail

"Are you kidding me? Have a single one of you asked Evan Bayh if he's worried about his chances? You do know he won Florida by the same margin Blanche won South Carolina? But only one of these candidates has been asked if their margin of victory makes them weak or worried about their chances. This kind of sexism is why so many women with so much to offer are deterred from running for public office." - Hillary Clinton in endorsement press conference, Jan. 30 (reporters have repeatedly dogged Lincoln and surrogates with questions about the margin of victory in South Carolina)

"I know this is a high concern to residents of California and Arizona, not to mention Nevada itself. The Yucca Mountain plan for nuclear waste storage has been in effect since 2002; but we need to make sure that dangerous chemicals are not appearing in people's backyards. I would halt spending on this project and order a full review from my EPA chief during my first year as President." - Blanche, in San Diego, on the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository

"Now you know me! You all gave me the biggest surprise of the night in 2004! We got your electoral votes and this November Blanche will win them too! But first we gotta nominate her! Let's get out the vote!" - Joe Biden barnstorming in Colorado

"The recent PPP poll shows clear momentum for our campaign. Last week we were at 38% to Evan Bayh's 45%. Heading into super Tuesday's election, we have our increased our democratic support by seven points, while he hasn't increased his at all. This is a testament to the fact that more and more Democrats are rising to support this historic campaign and are ready to support a true fighter for the American people come November." - Blanche, at Brooklyn rally on Feb. 2

Talking Points
Used by all surrogates in public and media appearances

Senator Lincoln has experience as the executive of a high-profile charity foundation that put computers in classrooms and vaccines in poor neighborhoods, as well as a proven record of fighting for her principles and finding common ground to pass legislation to benefit the people she represented as a U.S. Senator.

Senator Lincoln's 5-point plan to tackle the issues of poverty is the kind of forward-looking progressive ideas that she will bring to the table and fight for every day in the White House.

Blanche has worked tirelessly to create safeguards and greater accountability when working mothers are discriminated against in the work place. Specifically she has addressed the issue of mothers losing advancement opportunities more often than fathers, as well as equal pay legislation and preserving the constitutional protections of women's reproductive rights.

Last year, Blanche chose to make public her support for equal marriage, stating "it doesn't interfere with my relationship with The Lord one bit." Meanwhile, the other candidate in the field has been less kind to this community.

While Blanche will always take up the fight for the hardworking people of America, Evan Bayh has passed on this fight. In the last four years he has been one of the greatest allies of Rudy Giuliani, a bridge to nowhere.

When is the deadline to submit a schedule for this round?

It seems my teachers are trying to ram a lot of work in ahead of Thanksgiving break, so I am struggling to find time to work on my schedule.

TV Ad: The Time Is Now

[LINCOLN voice over over photos of her as a young girl, photo of MLK, photos of protestors people in voting booths, Americana and Blanche with her husband and children smiling]

LINCOLN: I remember, as a little girl, being inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King. I remember his rhetoric of 'the fierce urgency of now.'

Well, 'now' is here. The time is now. We can't wait another second to let power continue to reside in the hands of the chosen few who lock out millions of Americans from the political process.

[photo of EVAN BAYH and RUDY GIULIANI side by side]

[Camera now goes to LINCOLN speaking to the camera]

LINCOLN: All Americans, regardless of race or religion or age, are entitled to a transparent government that works for them. That hasn't been what we've gotten from our government lately.

Your primary is on February 12th. Help us change the course of our nation so that it works for everyone. Visit voteforblanche.com for a fast and easy briefing on how to vote in your state's primary. Don't wait; the time is now.

TV Ad: For The Children

[Camera shows LINCOLN speaking to a 3rd grade class, sitting at a computer with a young student showing them how it works, and helping out at a food bank while LINCOLN's voiceover plays]

LINCOLN: I usually shy away from the spotlight. Four years ago I almost turned down Vice President on Joe Biden's ticket for that very reason. The people that convinced me otherwise? My children.

My children have been the guiding light throughout my time in public service. It's because of them that I was inspired to focus on putting more information technology in classrooms at The Gates Foundation.

When I say I will raise the minimum wage, it's not for the endorsement of some union. It's for the children.

When I call for universal access to health care, it's not for the donations of Hospital CEOs. It's for the children.

And as President, when I do what it takes to protect America from terrorism and agents against democracy, it's not for Haliburton or Dick Cheney's pocketbook. It's for the children.

That's who I am. That's why I'm running. That's why it's time to join me in this historic movement. Visit voteforblanche.com for the easiest way to find your polling place on Tuesday. Thank you, and we'll see you at the polls.

Senator.

Senator Evan Bayh is a candidate without a vision. While Blanche has entered the election for president because of the hope she sees in America's future, and her drive to make change, Bayh is just here for another promotion. His campaign is about him, not the future or priorities Americans want their next President to have. His entire career has been all about him.

Last year, Blanche chose to make public her support for equal marriage, stating "it doesn't interfere with my relationship with The Lord one bit." Meanwhile, the other candidate in the field has been less kind to this community.

Blanche will fight to empower victims of rape, incest, and sexual assault and ensure that there are no more hurdles towards justice. This plan includes a nationwide initiative to clear the appalling backlog of untested rape kits, and an end to the statute of limitations in cases of rape, incest, & sexual assault.

While Blanche will always take up the fight for the hardworking people of America, Evan Bayh has passed on this fight. In the last four years he has been one of the greatest allies of Rudy Giuliani, a bridge to nowhere.

GOTV

The Lincoln campaign has continued to focus on its grassroots strategy in the primary states. Surrogates have split their time evenly between media-heavy appearances and GOTV canvass launches, where their presence attracts more people to volunteer.

Phone bank and canvass volunteers are sent only to the doors and phones of voters who have a history of voting in Democratic primaries, while surrogate organizations involved in the campaign's field operation have focused on expanding the primary electorate. On Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, we will have canvass launches twice a day in all major cities and metroplexes to reach primary voters and inform them of their voting location on Tuesday.
