I've always considered Washington and Oregon brothers. Which would vote for the Republican nominee first, though? On one hand, Oregon was moderately close with Bush, but outside of him, Washington has had even CLOSER calls for governor in presidential years, showing people don't vote across the board for one party. Discuss!

Oregon. Washington Governor elections have been tight, but there hasn't been a Republican Governor since 1997, and a Republican Senator since 2001.

Oregon is consistently 2-3 points more republican than Washington, so Oregon.

Definitely Oregon.  In a Republican landslide, Oregon would go first.

Actually there hasn't been a Republican Governor in WA since 1980 and 1982 was the last time OR elected a Republican Governor as well. I believe these two states have gone the longest without a Republican Governor of course a lot of the Governor races have been razor tight in both states over the years.
