We all know Neel Kashkari will lose in November. No surprise. But he's the kind of candidate Republicans need, especially in California. What will his political future be after his failed bid for governor?

Nothing. I don't see him doing much politically in the future.

He could serve in a future Republican Administration, though.

It becomes almost impossible for Republican to win statewide in California. The situation is somewhat similar with Democrats in the South: 40% is almost easy, 45  - difficult, 50 - impossible..

But they will need Kashkari-type candidates even to try and get relatively close.

Unfortunately he probably will, especially under a Christie administration.

Someone like him is only going to do well as a governor or similar executive position. He'd never cut it as a legislator at any level.

He'll probably move up to the Bay Area and do something involving venture capital and apps or something.

I think he has a future in the Republican Party. He's the kind of politican the GOP needs. Especially in the next decades, with a growing Latino population, extreme conservatives such as the Tea Party won't win national elections or races in purple or blue states.

He might be Secretary of Treasury in a Christie or Jeb Bush adminstration.

That is what I was thinking as well. Neel Kashkari might make an alright Treasury Secretary or head of the OMB (Office of Management and Budget) in the next Republican administration.

He looks normal.

Disappointing. We need more Republicans like him. Like he is damn well close to ideal. Just boot all the southrons and replace them with people like Kashkari.
