I'm a Chicago native, so IL. But, outside of Chicago, IL sucks. Indiana is mediocre. It's well run, but I have no desire to continue to live here. Ohio is the scourge of the earth. Michigan is weird and has the Red Wings. Wisconsin is very pretty, but it also has the Packers and the cold. Minnesota is just freezing, but pretty. Iowa is Iowa.

Michigan, of course, because I live here.  Other than that, I'd have to say Illinois.  Politically speaking, however, probably Indiana.

Where are Pennsylvania and New York on here?  They're Great Lakes states.  And Iowa is not, since it doesn't border any of them.
