Writeup on Colorado, another draw which if anything will be remembered for a moderator's "Mark Uterus" soundbite.

Am I the only one who finds this soundbite incredibly sexist and offensive?
Especially coming from (I assume) a white guy.

You would be incorrect in that assumption.

It's an apt moniker considering this is a candidate who has focused on abortion and birth control in his campaign to such an extent that it has made him come across as much less accomplished in other areas than he actually is.
At the beginning of the year he was one of my favorite Senators and at this point I would have a hard time voting for the guy.

So I guess we can call a candidate that focuses on "men's issues" Mr. Dick.

Hopefully this incident will simply work in favor of Udall.  Suburban women are the key swing demographic in this state.

Looks like another tie, same strengths and weaknesses for both as previous debates.

Watching the Louisiana debate online now. Less than five minutes in, they're doing an icebreaker question, and Landrieu is already lobbing bombs at Cassidy. The way she backflipped the icebreaker into a Cassidy slam was hilarious and impressive. She knows what she's doing.

Maness is obviously very inexperienced at this, especially sandwiched between Cassidy and Landrieu.

Quick write up on the LA debate.

Landrieu did a good job of holding her own. In one question, she was asked to rate Obama on a scale of 1 to 10. She gave him "6 or 7" which was higher than I expected, but brave of her.

It was easy to see why Cassidy skipped the debate. He was in his awkward doctor/professor mode most of the time while Maness generally exceeded expectations.

Also, this was how the candidates looked when they were asked to rate Jindal from 1-10:

Didn't get that far in the debate. What did they all actually rate Jindal?

^ Jindal ratings:

Landrieu- 3
Maness- 5
Cassidy- 7

Both Maness and Cassidy gave Obama 0, geaux figure.

The fact that she didn't just write Jindal off entirely with a 0, like the Republicans did with Obama, probably shows she put more thought into her ratings.

The Republican Party and its politicians have no concept of nuance? How utterly shocking. Tongue

If Obama is a 0, then what is Buchanan? Does he get a curve for being white?

I am no longer certain that Landrieu will lose this election, particularly if the Republicans already win control of the Senate on election night without Louisiana, which is becoming increasingly likely. She might stay as the last Democrat from the Deep South.
