Only two weeks until the vote, and this poll will run until then.

I'd have no choice but to vote Yes if I were a Scot.

Nobody's business but the Scot's.

I would like the Union to remain, if only to prevent the race to the bottom that is Salmond's economic plan.

While I believe that this is an issue for the Scots to decide, and as a non-Scot, it's hard for me to imagine how I would vote in such a referendum, as I've discussed on this forum before:

  • The states rights' and national rights activist in me would want to vote Yes.
  • The British unionist in me, however, would want to vote No.

This being said, a hypothetical Scottish Anton Kreitzer would vote No, as he'd want to preserve the Union.

I don't know enough about the possible consequences of independence to have an opinion, and even then it obviously is up to the Scots to make that decision. Secession would be kinda cool though.

I would obviously vote Yes if I were Scottish, although the proposed independence plan doesn't go nearly far enough as regards guillotining the royal family, etc.

I'm really undecided, even after reading all the stuff with pro's and con's about it on the "Economist", which I subscribed recently for a year.

I'm currently leaning probably very slightly in favour of staying in, but the prospect of an independent Scotland would be intriguing.

I'd probably throw a dice in the election booth ... Tongue

What would happen to the Pound Sterling, should this referendum pass? I'd imagine the Scots would have to use that currency until they could get their own going.

And would Scotland be a NATO member, or would they opt to go toward military-neutrality?

No, let common sense break it up instead. Wink

No, because I don't want to doom England to eternal Tory majorities.

(Yes I know that "eternal" is hyperbole and things may change someday.  The fact remains that Scottish independence would be a right-wing gerrymander more than anything else.)

Yes I do, Scotland would do better alone, it's a more progressive country than downstate UK as a whole. The yes arguments are much more progressive than the nationalist "god save the queen" types

Likely would vote yes, though it probably wouldn't be good for either Scotland or (and to a lesser extent) the UK.

http://kenmacleod.blogspot.nl/2014/06/an-argument-against-scottish.html

I don't totally agree with the argument here, but I have great sympathy towards it. I just don't 'get' Scottish nationalism I'm afraid.
