I have a feeling if they do try, they'll be doomed in 2016.

Absolutely true, which is why we'll ignore Cruz's ilk and never do so.

Would be such a waste of time and idiotic, it's not going to happen no matter what Ted Cruz says.

They'll try, but they won't get any actual vote or progress on it.

After they fail to get a national Right-to-Work law, fail to abolish the minimum wage, fail to sell off the Interstate Highway System, fail, fail, and fail on an agenda from ALEC...

they will try to impeach the President for heavy use of a veto pen. They will also make fools of themselves and waste two years of what they see as a mandate for transforming America into a Christian and Corporate State.

They fail to impeach the President and ensure the loss of the Senate and the election of a Democrat for President. They might also lose the House majority.

No. Most Republican Senators are somewhat familiar with US history.

And, in any case, what does getting a majority in the Senate have to do with it. To impeach you only need the majority in the House - if they wanted, they could do it now. To convict you need a supermajority in the Senate, which they will not have anyway.

Not unless they win an over-2/3 supermajority, which I don't believe is mathematically possible to accomplish just through elections in 2014; they'd need someone (King or Manchin, presumably) to switch sides as well. Then they would go ahead and successfully remove Obama from office Grin

In other words, no.
