Romney - 274
Hillary - 264

Key swing states would be New Mexico, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Iowa.

If it was Bredesen at the top of the ticket, and someone like Bayh was his running mate, then I'd have to give it serious thought.  As it is, with Hillary on top, it's a no brainer.  Gotta go with Romney.

Why would NM and IA go for Hillary?

I would think it likely that Romney carries all of Bush's states and picks up MN, WI, PA, and possibly MI.

people don't like Mormons. And the fundies would never let a Mormon be nominated either, hence this being a moot point.

Hillary isnt THAT weak of a candidate.  No way she loses MN and MI.  I dont care how popular Romney's father was in Michigan.  Wisconsin, Iowa, and Pennsylvania would be tossups.

That is really a thoroughly ridiculous statement.  I would have hoped that kind of narrow minded thinking would have gone by the wayside decades ago.

I would pick Romney to win.  He is a top notch leader.

Will Romney be the GOP nominee in 2008?  No, but not to do with his faith.
