The Ernest films seem to be hated in pop culture, I liked the Halloween one when I was little.

I like Jim Varney, I just hate Ernest P. Worrell.  While the character was irritating, he was supposed to be, as he originated as an advertising character who got people's attention by being stupid.

Great dude, such a shame he died.  He was one of my hero's as a kid and when he died it was the first time I was ever sad a celb died. One of the few times overall I have felt sad (besides Macho Man Savage, and a couple others.)

He was an underrated actor too who got typecast. He was great at Shakesphere and won competitions as a teen. He never got a chance, and that was sad.

anyway, jim varney is one of many who died prematurely from smoking.

Vern was Ernest's neighbor who he never left the hell alone. He keeps on moving due to Ernest but Ernest never leaves him alone.

When filming the commercial Vern was always the camera guy.

Used to love the Ernest movies when I was younger, I'm also a fan of Varney's voice work in the first two Toy Story films.
