Pretty self explanatory.

Fat Tire is king. Honorable mention to Spotted Cow.

The only thing I buy is Bud Ice...unless Rolling Rock is on sale.  I don't understand paying more than a dollar for 12oz beer.

Honorable mentions: any of Southern Tier's Imperial offerings, Goose Island's Bourbon County stout, Victory's Golden Monkey and Prima Pils, and, for everyday drinking, good old Yuengling Lager.

Or, really, pretty much any Belgian tripel.  That's the best style.

PBR for cheap and Sierra Nevada, particularly the winter seasonal, for quality.

American mass produced beer:  1. Yuengling 2. PBR

IPAs: 1. Surly Furious 2.  Bell's Two Hearted 3. Stone IPA 4. Sixpoint Bengali Tiger

Honorable mentions: any of Southern Tier's Imperial offerings, Goose Island's Bourbon County stout, Victory's Golden Monkey and Prima Pils, and, for everyday drinking, good old Yuengling Lager.

Ever had Westmalle tripel?  I drank so much of that stuff when I was in Paris earlier this year.  I had been an American IPA chauvinist, but its amazing the flavor that a tripel can pack into a light, drinkable package.   Unfortunately, it's ridiculously expensive in NYC.  I saw Westmalle at the liquor store in Prospect Heights for $6 for a normal 12 oz bottle.  That's just insane.

Not much of a fan of it, but there is a local one that is pretty good.  I would rather have a glass of some fine wine.

IPAs are the best drink known to man. Very fond of Dogfish, Hop Devil and Sierra Nevada Torpedo. And there are lots of smaller ones that are very very good.

Sam Adams is the best commonly found mass production beer in the States.

With German stuff, it's all pretty good and you can't normally go wrong, but we need some more exotic stuff.

Lots of good beers out there, so I'll highlight my local favorite.

I've heard this is incredibly good, but damn it is expensive.

Rolling Rock is a nice pale lager, I've been drinking it for years.

I haven't had many quality beers, but of the cheap variety, Blue Moon and Shiner aren't bad.

There's a pizza place 500 meters from my house that has this in huge bottles (20 oz?)

I've never tried it before, but on your recommendation I'll try it next time I'm there.

Shiner is probably the closest analogue there is to Yuengling, in terms of cost/taste/brewery size and status.

Of course Yuengling is better because Pennsylvania >>>>> Texas.  It annoys me to no end that you seem to be able to get Shiner in more places than Yuengling nowadays in NYC; that state of affairs is just wrong.

There is probably more...

Let's go for some European beer cultural chauvinism:

As it goes for pilsner, it is clearly Pilsner Urquell/Plzeňský Prazdroj. The one and only. But I also like Jever, Staropramen, Budweiser/Budvar (the real one, from České Budějovice in the Czech Republic), Radeberger and Wernesgrüner. As it goes for Schwarzbier I prefer Březňák or Eibauer Dunkel. When it comes to ale I prefer Kilkenny.

For a light beer, Corona. For a dark beer, Guinness Draught.

There's going to be a Guinness Blonde, if anyone has heard anything about it.

I'm in western Pennsylvania, so there are hundreds and thousands of microbreweries, but I'm really not enough of a beer drinker or beer connoisseur to go and try the scene.
