What does he do when he's thirsty? Chug a sugary Coca Cola? What a waste of good Coke, doesn't even touch his taste buds.

My sister's father-in-law.  I don't know how he survives, but he's French, so maybe he gets his hydration from wine. Tongue

I do greatly prefer to have flavored beverages.  I do drink a lot of water... but it's not straight water.  Typically a mix of 40% juice and 60% H2O.

My grandpa doesn't. He says it's bad for you and will make you rust.

I hardly ever drink pure water. I thought that was pretty normal.

My parents drink exclusively soda. It's how I was raised as well. It's certainly not ideal.

To be fair, fracking has made avoiding the water of many oil-rich states a good idea.

I don't drink water with meals.  Juice, pop, coffee, tea, or milk.  But I drink several gasses of water every day for the purpose of hydration.

many.

Especially when it's tapwater, and especially when I'm vacationing in the developing world.  My strategy is to get it over with fully and quickly.  My first day in any tropical, war-torn nation, I always drink about a gallon of the local water.  Get the explosive gas, stomach pains, and diarrhea the second day.  By the third day, I'm past it, immune to it, and can start enjoying my vacation.  By the end of the first week I'm lounging, soaking up the rays, and drinking from the tap like there's no tomorrow.  No harm, no foul.  Meanwhile, all the dumbasses who insisted upon, and obsessed over, bottled water are holed up in their rooms, mid-vacation, because they ended up ingesting the local water little by little as they brushed their teeth and swam in the pool but they didn't have the good sense to inoculate themselves correctly and completely the first day.

Always drink the water!  Drink it up; drink it well.

Our water will rust your insides...it's so full of iron.

Haha.  I'm actually pretty familiar with the Iron Range water.  My father (one of eleven siblings) and my mother (one of eight) are from northern Minnesota.  I have relatives in Hibbing, Duluth, Virginia, Ely, and Babbit, as well as Saint Paul and environs, as the younger generation tended to migrate to that metropolis.  Nasty water they have, I agree, but its taste holds fond memories for me.

Millersville water tastes pretty bad too.  Copper.  I suppose I might have a copper deficiency, so I drink that stuff too, copiously.  Oddly, Lancaster water, only four miles north, has very tasty water.  Ah, well.  I still drink the water in both Lancaster and Millersville.

Lots of people I know almost never drink water, but I don't think most of them refuse to. My partner gets annoyed if there is no alternative. I have already bitched about how annoying I find that.

I adore water and I think it's a result of my stoner years. When you've got severe cottonmouth, well, there's just no competition. If you've had a big night drinking, plenty of water will prevent that hangover. Sweaty from working or working out? Yeah, try and feel better with a Coke, idiot. I'll be at the drinking fountain. PEACE
