Registered as a Dem. I switched to Rep a few times in between, once as a protest against the Twitter left and another time because I wanted to vote in the GOP primary even though my state didn't have closed primaries. I'm currently unaffiliated (independent), have been for a while, and will remain that way for the foreseeable future. If my state did away with open primaries, I'd be a Republican, although an unorthodox one.

Indiana doesn't have partisan voter registration, so primary votes are used as an equivalent. Primaries are semi-open —I think technically you're supposed to pledge to vote for a majority of the candidates put up by the party whose primary you vote in, but in practice anyone can vote in whichever primary they want.
