Hi everyone this is a lot different from the boards i'm more accustomed to moderating, from self-contained nerdgasm "What Ifs" to hopeless troll pen "2016". I would appreciate feedback on how i've been doing so far, especially anything that you think I should be doing differently.

I think the dozens of random "Ask" threads are pretty annoying and i am considering doing something about them again, what do you think?

I think there needs to be 2 separate subboards.

One on the members themselves. Like each person can make their own thread to ramble or to be asked questions such as "Ask Bacon King"

One on all members' views such as "What is your favorite kind of ice cream?"

Maybe the forum community match-ups board can be turned into the forum community individual thread subboard because there's more of a focus on individuals there.

I would suggest moving all the "ask" threads to that forum if you'd prefer.

Obviously wipe out the Ask threads and ban everyone involved, with an exception for those who are actually interesting (Hash, etc.).

Brutality of BK's regime makes me miss the freedom we've all enjoyed under Inks.

If Inks was Nero then we are in for the Year of the Four Emperors.

So are multiple smaller threads preferrable to larger ones?  I always just assumed that like more boards, more threads would slow down the forum even if the number of posts are the same.  If this is the case, there are probably some threads on Off Topic/Forum Community that can be locked and restarted.

Yes - go ahead and lock some of these longer threads - should probably keep the post count to 2k or so max per thread.

Thanks,
Dave

If Dave's wishes per above are still applicable, then both "Atlas Forum IRC Channel" and "Opinion of Previous Poster's Signature Thread" should be locked and replacement threads opened in their place.

Atlas Forum IRC Channel can be deleted and replaced by a new thread, really. There's nothing in there that's of more than immediate value.

Yes it's not exactly like we'd be missing out on any important content.

Yes, and then I'd be totally ok with removing the "Ask" threads.

Would you like some cheese to go with that whine? Or perhaps a delicious chocolate-Oreo double decker cookies and cream headache inducing cumblast to the face?

Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

I like most Cheeses but that can hardly be dignified as a whine. For a start, most whines are longer than six words and gives reasons and justifications and sh**t. It was more of a petty moan.

I realize that a lot of people use Atlas to hook up with other Aspie Gays - while it's not my scene, I don't really have a problem with this - but I resent being told that I should come along with it. We all have our choices... and reasons.

Oh, and consider yourself glad that I'm not a woman. The outrage would be deafening otherwise.

I am banned from IRc indefinitely by people who are willing only to talk about me when I'm not there to defend myself. Also, they won't respond to PMs or even reply here.  So I was left with little choice.

1. bans on IRC last only 24 hours
2. Don't talk about IRC in this thread this is for forum community moderator feedback
3. IRC has its own thread for things like this
4. IRC is a private institution that has no official relationship with the forum itself
5. You are free to make your own IRC channel, with blackjack, and hookers
6. I've been in IRC for a couple of hours tonight and nobody has mentioned you except when I was like "what is snowguy talking about in my thread" and a few people were like "idk"
7. You are now unbanned
