I assume the comments about poor people are true. They actually make me like Hollande more.

I also think poor people are mostly awful and largely responsible for their own plight. I'm a socialist but mostly because I think people are too stupid to live their own lives. They need the government to keep them from falling into outright squalor.

Besides the "poors are stupid" thing, there is alsio this little gem:

Of course, I personally don't give a crap about democracy. It is a means to an end.

So HP, despite often providing valuable info in his posts.

Awful. From this to citing WorldNetDaily to prove a point, WillipsBrighton seems to be fairly sage.

Interesting point of view.  I can't say that I agree with any of it, but he strikes me as very well informed.  He may also be having you on, or adopting an on-line persona with a rigid set of opinions in order to explore sensitive questions.  This mode of approach isn't entirely irregular on this forum.

As for the issue with the poor, words fail me... I can only say: LOL Flanby!

On the other hand, he seems genuinely interested in international politics. I don't share most of his opinions on issues, but I think gaffes are not a reason to make someone the Forum's punching bag (see Snowstalker). Neutral.

I prefer giving people the benefit of the doubt. I don't know how old is he. I assume he might be still a teenager, like many people on this forum. It's not strange to see people changing their minds when they grow up a bit, as someone suggested in that thread.

Ah. In that case my opinion is that he needs to grow up a bit, with regard to his opinions on the poor. The 'poor oppressed' Snowstalker and the gang who likes to beat up on him too.

I very much appreciate his contributions on the International Elections/ General Discussion boards. Who else can be relied upon to care about presidential elections in Mali?
