Hopefully this means he'll run for Senate instead and give lobbyist Dan Coats a good spanking.

It probably just means Evan Bayh is done with politics.

Poor Bayh. He may run for Senate in 2016 against Coats, or be on the veep list for the Democratic nominee, or run for president himself if Hillary declines, or change his mind and run for governor in 2016, or continue being a lobbyist/Fox News contributor.

Yeah, he's done with politics. Being the token Democrat on Fox News is what he wants.

Yeah, me too. That isn't saying much though.

I guess if he's the only one who can pick up the seat, but I'm still mad at him for bailing in 2010 because he had a serious opponent even though he was a solid bet for re-election and was our only chance of keeping the seat that year.

That would be an intense Lobbyist vs. Lobbyist showdown.

it would be a huge back and forth - "he's a washington insider!" "No, he is!"

Bye to Bayh. He's a true HP. After a black Democrat wins his state, he decided to become the most conservative Democratic Senator.

I could see Bayh running for Governor in 2016 if Pence runs for president. Indiana Democrats could have a chance.

I would only want him to run for the sake of numbers in the Senate.

If he won in 2016, the last time Indiana would have had two Democratic senators was from January 3, 1963 to January 3, 1977 when Vance Hartke and Birch Bayh were in office.

Why are bumping threads from last year? Especially with that kind of post?

I see Coats getting a pink slip courtesy of the Tea Party.
