He's a Republican, so there's that. Find me an equivalently disgusting Democratic candidate in the country and then we can talk.

Before everyone goes all into extreme Republican defense mode, it's worth noting that both the Republican gubernatorial and senate candidates attended a dinner hosted by this person.

Seriously now that useless hack cinyc and his crew are going to argue this proves they're right and Democrats always assume every extremist represents the entire Republican Party just like they believe for Democrats.

Seriously NYE you are the Tea Party's best dream.

Did the other Republican candidates condemned what he said? If they didn't, that's an endorsement.

The fact some local county office seeker uttered such crap, in and of itself, says nothing.

The fact both the senate and grubenatorial candidates who attended this dinner apparently have stayed silent rather than risk offending a significant portion of their party base by rightly condeming such garbage, sadly, says a ton about the GOP (at least in CO).

The GOP in Colorado (along with much of the West) is full of gun and NWO conspiracy nuts. Nothing to see here.

The former isn't the issue. There's silly persons even in places like Vermont. The point that major candidates are that close to him and not condemning him is kind of a Reverend Wright thing (saying that our Government butchers 6 year olds for political brownie points is morally similar to saying that America deserved 9/11 for being unjust)  for Gardner and Beauprez. Its at least worth considering for an attack ad though Reverend Wright probably only cost, at most, Missouri in 2008.

The Republicans are all a bunch of extremists. Example: in this vote, every Republican Senator voted to filibuster an increase in the debt ceiling that was necessary to avoid having the US default.

Yes as that involves the entire Republican Senate caucus and not a single candidate for a county office it's a valid line of attack.

I think the big point that is being missed here is that major candidates appeared at an event hosted by this person and haven't said a word about his comments, which are far from mainstream.
