It is official, that position in Edmond has been accepted by someone else.  Moving on.

Damnit Bushie I really wish you had told us this sooner.

Bushie, you need to volunteer for Lankford's campaign ASAP and work your way back in touch with him and maybe he will get you a j-o-b.

Bushie, how are you and your family taking the news that gay marriage is now legal in Oklahoma?

A family meeting will surely be called.

If I were a gay in Oklahoma a week ago, I'd already be packing my bags.  Now?  Jesus... Might have to send in the Air National Guard to extract them.

I suspect self-deportation cleared Oklahoma of the gays many years ago.

Hmmm possible.  Whether or not that's true, you just know the mobs are going to ransack and burn the one Urban Outfitters they have in the state anyway...

A new gay is born in Oklahoma every day.

Then they get rid of him by electing him to Congress.  The OK cycle of life.

Don't worry folks, my Latino brethren will get around to invading Oklahoma and turning it to the side of good eventually, after we've locked up Texas and Colorado.

Today has been a great day in the job search department. I have been looking since 9:30 this morning pretty much non-stop. I haven't found a lot of CADD positions, but I've found some Help Desk/Technical Support positions that I have applied to both in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. I've got two such Help Desk positions in the cooker. First one is a temp to hire in Oklahoma City by the old Shepard's Mall (I should hear about a client interview by Thursday). Second, is a Help Desk Position in Tulsa where I would actually be in the field responding to trouble tickets. The most promising one is the position in Tulsa. I had a technical phone screen just a few minutes ago, which I passed, and I now have a phone interview with the client tomorrow at 11:00. I will find out the decision on that one Wednesday Morning. Things are really looking up right now. On top of that, my cold is disappearing. My voice is still a little nasally, but my cough is nearly gone and I still haven't used a Kleenex or sneezed in two full days.

It turns out that I am staying at my parents' all weekend while they're on vacation to feed the dog and cat.  i will return home on Sunday, October 12, 2014.  This position would start between October 13 and 27.

Help desk = customer service = call center.  Has dad lifted the ban?

He also seems to be uninvited to Kansas City, unless this is a different vacation.

As far as the gay marriage thing, my parents obviously don't support it, but it's not going to bother them too much, truth be told.  I support it a little more than they do, but that's because I'm more liberal than they are.  Gov. Fallin has come out against the inaction by the Supreme Court, naturally, and it may hurt her in the polls some next month, potentially.

I'll be honest, there is growing support for it around my circle of friends and young people, especially, that I talk to.  Gay marriage in Oklahoma has more support than you would think.  It still has it's opponents, just like any issue, but the supporters are gaining more company.

This best opportunity is not a call center.  I would actually be onsite responding to the issues that the call center receives and send out.  I would be a Field Tech.

Official title: Desktop Support Technician.

I would have to get A+ certified within 90 days of my start, so pretty much by middle January.

This is what I don't get.

When someone tells Jeff he should pursue non-CAD jobs, he gets all indignant and insists he will be a successful CADD-er.

When Jeff actually goes out to look for work, he interviews for call center jobs that he never likes.

I wanted to keep it as a CAD job search, but then I decided I better open it up again.  This particular position is not in the call center and is not even in an actual office.  I would be in the field (in this case: a hospital).

Haha, probably more like 20-25%
